Hey guys...we are getting way off topic here...take the Sandbox talk away from this and let this be about the rankings.

Let me clear a few things up here...
 
1) AP Poll has not been published.
 
2) Our rankings this year are going to involve a bit of formula to everything that incorporates a media vote that I have highly vetted (meaning I have reached out to these voters and trust them with their voting), incorporate record, strength of schedule and possibly what two computer polls have to say about the state of things here in Florida. This is where things are at now. I had intended to have a panel of coaches for each classification to be able to vote, but right now it appears not all slots are going to get filled as lack of participation from half the classes has forced my hand to pull back on the idea. It seems to me while some coaches are for this, others just simply don't care. 
 
3) Looking a posting our first rankings on Monday, August 22.

I saw highlights of this game but how exactly did Gardens upset Miramar???

PB Gardens were Home, Miramar underestimated them and were probably looking ahead to South Dade.  3 fumbles (2 red zone), 14 total penalties on Miramar including allowing  PB Gardens to hold the ball in the final minute when Miramar picked up a roughing the punter penalty down 10-12.  PB Gardens was up 12-10 at half and it ended that way. The Gators were just the better team that night with a good game plan.

This is not a place to bash about a coach. If something happened I want the parties of Chaminade-Madonna and the coach to talk to me, not have someone random posting something about a coach which might not be true and could be liable. In that case I would be held repsonsible as the site owner for this and I will not allow for it to be tolerated on this board.

LSmith10 - I advise you read RULE #1 which deals with the post you made about the coach. This is not the place for that and it seems we are going outside of the general realm of things of this topic which dealt with the coaching change. Since it is a close source and this is a sensitive topic that the school nor coach is wanting to talk about beyond the statements posted, we all shouldn't be speculating on something like this.

Until the school wants to officially speak beyond what has been put out, do not accuse coaches of something you can't prove otherwise than just hearsay. Not fair to them and not fair to anyone else.

Two teams had the exact same number of votes by the fans and to break the tie, Josh cast his vote on which helmet should advance. 

I broke the tie between them and Astronaut with Glades Central moving on to the Semifinals.

Finally we get to see what everyone is gonna have in their toolbox.  The heat is gonna be brutal and I feel for the boys but they know the price of success and those who don't will learn it.  We sit here and try to predict what teams will be the best and we will all get most of them right but somewhere out there is a team that is going to overachieve and everything will fall in place and they will shock us all and that is what makes this sport so great. Here's to all the players and coaches who are going to bust their butts and lay it all on the line to chase a dream, chase a ring.       I salute you guys, be safe, and God bless you all.

Got a story up on this change now. Crazy news to hear on a Sunday with less than 24 hours before practices start:
 

Since the information we had was provided to us by Coach Wilkinson directly through the questionnaire, we were likely unaware their might have been a couple of more.
 
Give you my honest assessment on Cocoa. If they don't win it all in 4A this year they could go down at the best squad they had that didn't reach the mountain top. 
 
(NOTE: I do read through all the previews, before they are posted, especially the ones I have not written. Just reading some of the outlooks on these teams is fun and really eye opening). 

Media Days I will be at for sure is Tallahassee (Tuesday), Ocala (Friday) and Jacksonville (Friday, August 5). Miami is on August 6, but not sure if I will actually make it down since it is a quick turnaround time to go from Jacksonville to Miami and there are some other family things going on that might need my attention that weekend. Plus to really make it worse about Miami is that its an 8AM to 6PM thing and with over 100 teams during the day, it would be hard to touch on many schools given the time windows they slot the schools in. It would be better to be honest given the different media days I have been to that they split the South Florida Media Day over two days.
 
Miami however, we will have strategic partner HSPN Sports there, so there will be content that will come out of that, but nothing likely for podcast purposes. I will have to reach out to those coaches at a different time to work in things, but it will depend again on scheduling.

As most of you all know I do post time to time, but the main goal is to keep fresh content on the site and with that said the attention is focused on that part first.
 
I have two media days this weeks and the grounds to launch a podcast are in the works now and the Media Day will help build some ground to getting it all off the ground here likely within the next week to week and half.

Most schedules are up (87%) of them. Most hold outs right now are ones we don't have complete schedules for including most of Miami-Dade County.

Figured I'd make a quick note filled with a few of my thoughts. 
 
First off, welcome to all the new members we have gained over the last couple of months. And, welcome back to some members who have been long time members but haven't posted much this off-season. 
 
Secondly, thank you all for making this board such a fantastic and enjoyable place to come! It's great that we all can be civilized in here talking about football in the great state of Florida. 
 
Third, and lastly, I kindly ask ALL members, both new and old, who do not have avatar photos to please post an avatar photo!! Not only does it give you more "personality" but it also is a good identifier for when you are posting in the threads. It obviously does not have to be a photo of you, but can simply be of a team you rep, or something that only has meaning to you.

Right now, I have CCC 35, Chaminade 31 if it happens. I'm giving CCC the nod since it would be played in Clearwater, plus they have a huge edge in playoff experience. A lot of football to be played before that one, and I think the injury report (especially with Chaminde playing IMG week 11) will play a role in the outcome. That said, I really hope that game happens- I think it would be a great thing for 3A this year and an instant classic. But, I would also salivate at a American Heritage (Delray) vs Chaminade game. I think AHD, with their transfers (especially Noah Curtis and the RB that just came in) and the return of Alec Sincfield and Cameron Smith make them a very formidable, battle tested team.

Can't wait for the season!

More great work.  I hope everyone is reading these team previews.  They are up to date, detailed, and just all around great information!
 
St. Cloud (5-0 in District) and Harmony (4-1 in District) ran away with this District in 2015.  I think this 7A-5 District will be will more balanced in 2016.  Although St. Cloud could likely be down a bit... Harmony, Lake Nona, Celebration, East River, and Liberty should all be improved programs.
