Some interesting topics pop up on Twitter from time to time and one that is really catching my eye and is certainly one open for debate is the use of NCAA rules for football instead of the current NFHS rules.

I know Texas is the biggest among them that uses NCAA rules over NFHS rules and clearly it has worked for them. Massachusetts also uses NCAA rules. So their examples of big and small using it.

So, why wouldn't it work for us? I think the FHSAA ought to look at this. Why not match our level to the Texas level?

Here is an opinion that I shared through the Twitter account on the topic that was started by an assistant coach at Palm Bay High:

Personally, I love the Texas HS rules. Prepares the kids for the college game.

The rules are good and i personally don't care much for the running clock but it would have a steep learning curve for teams and officals who are used to Old rules and could take some time to get used to

Maybe they can try it for spring games and see how it works then slowly convert lf they seriously considering it
