FAMU didn't show up? Shaking my damn head. They signed up to play an oos team who finished higher than STA last year.

Whats with these damn coaches?

No clue honestly

Since you commented i want to ask you this

How much stock do you place on events like this or other scrimmages during spring and fall?

Zero. Miami Central never won any 7on7 events the years they won all their state championships. You don't hear of STA winning these. Jax TC, Bolles, AHP are not heavyweights in 7on7. Booker T was good in their prime.

These teams have won dozens of titles but don't win 7on7

11on11 is what I put stock into

It was a joke meaning I put stock into real football

Well the only thing close to real football between playoffs and week 1 are spring games and kickoff classics

Both of which only have starters playing limited time in most cases so there is basically little to nothing for judging a team when doing preseason rankings

In other words preseason rankings are basically guessing

Shouldn’t 7 on 7 help build a good relationship between your QBs and WRs? Meaning 7 on 7 helps the QBs get to know the speed and other things of each WRs and vice versa?

Yeah it does

It also lets linebackers and defensive backs get practice in coverage alignments a lot sooner than you would in the past

Besides the obvious advantages of team camaraderie, timing, physical conditioning, and summer fun, these get-togethers allow the coaching staff to have hands on contact with their players throughout the summer break. Remember, before 7 on 7, coach/player contact was very limited until the start of fall practice. Legally, that is! It also continues the modern day trend of sports specialization. Baseball, basketball, and soccer, all with club teams, play almost year round. The three sport high school athlete is becoming a thing of the past.

FPC's head coach Travis Roland (Mainland '04, B-CU '08) continues with the vast improvement of this Flagler county school despite being there for only one year.  That Jax 7 on 7 tourney had some of the better NE FL teams competing. He's a defensive specialist. His teams will always be strong on that side of the ball. Now with FPC's offense showing some life, under I believe an ex-Bethune-Cookman QB as coordinator (draw blank on name) , 8A north will have trouble if they under estimate either FPC or Port Orange's Spruce Creek....just my opinion.
