Can multiple teams from 1 district still make it ?? Or are only district champs guranteed a spot??

I only ask because years prior multiple teams got in by points even with avg to below avg records ..Ex: miami NW last year.

So with the new changes is the point system still in place i heard it wasnt ...and the only point system in place is to determine the seeding of the district winners.

Both, District Champs automatically qualify (wins and losses), RPI is used to rank them (1-4) and rank who the wildcards are (5-8)

Ohhh ok just was trying to narrow down who our 1st round opponent could possibly be.

It most likely will not be a district champ with a decent record.  Other than that good luck trying to figure out which team it will be.

Truuu there is a 98% chance we finish 10-0 for the first time in school history so hopefully that gives us a top 2 seed for a change instead of 4

I believe a few people gave me crap when i said Dillard could finish 9-1.  Looks like they might do one better.  Deerfield was also dropped from the schedule.

you have Columbus left.  How long is there RB out for.

Yea they backed out last min for oakridge smh but yea we have a chance to move to 5-0 after this week. We havent had this type of start since the 80s i believe but i cant go back that far cuz maxpreps only goes back to 04 lol.

The sad part is that a #1 seed actually has less time to prepare than a #4 or 5 seed for the first round match in theory. The district champions are decided a week before the last week. If your region has a really good district runner-up type team than they most likely will be the #5 seed, thus the #4 and #5 can probably start preparing. The number #8 seed can often be one of numerous teams from the #6 to the #10 team. As a result, the #1 team actually can start preparing until the results are official.

Any team can give you A "L" if you dont come out and execute. Columbus are in their 1st year with a new head coach.

While their team talent is undoubted they are underperforming. Other then a blow out win vs belen they barely escaped osceola with a win (21-17) & since then they have lost to str8 games to fall 2-2 & it may be 3 str8 games after tomorrow.

As for us were taking everything 1 game at a time right now were 4-0 tryna be 5-0 for the first time in school history after tomorrow. And if we continue with that mindset we will be 10-0 when its all said and done.

    • Here is a tough one. 1980 Gainesville or Tate. Both 13-1 Here is the tape of the tape. Please let me know what you think.    Tale of the tape.    Tate - class 4A only loss was against 8-2 Choctaw by 4 points  beat 12-1 Miami Columbus in the title game 35-7 but the game was in Pensacola. Meaning Columbus had to drive almost 10 hours  Gainesville - class 3A only loss was against 10-1 Palatka by 8 points  beat Titusville 21-0 in the title game on the road in Titusville
    • For 1997 I picked Carol City over Raines. It was tough but CC finished top 5 in the nation according to USAToday. And they played a tougher schedule. It’s tough when you have the top 2 teams both undefeated.
    • Yeah in the 70’s-90’s the debate will most likely be between the top 2 largest class state champs
    • 1976 - Godby HS went 14-0, defeated ledgendary Gene Cox, Leon Lions for the 1st time in school history in its last game of the regular season. Beat a Carol City Team, (that would come back the next year to win the 1977 state title), 21-15 in Lakeland, FL for the 1976 4A title. Two members of that Godby team (Sammy Knight, Chris Hobbs) would then lead FAMU to a upset win over the University of Miami. 1978 - Meritt Island - Beat Carl Madison coached (going to see the name Carl Madison alot through out the 80's),Pine Forrest for the 4A state Title 20-16 and would go on to be repeat state champs winning the 1979 state 4A state title as well, seeing Pine Forrest once again in the Finals 1979 - Merritt Island - Beat Pine Forrest 19-14 1980 - Argument could be made that 3A state Champ Gainesville HS was the states best, as they defeated Titusville on Titusville's home field 21-15, but in the end Carl Madison's (who we'll talk about again in the 80's), Tate HS has to be considered the state best destorying Miami Columbus HS 35-7! 1981 - Again 3A would again have to be where the state's best team played. Palatka after struggling in its 1st round game went on to dominate evenutally winning the state title 42-2 over Suncoast. Unlike Vero Beach (which won the 4A state itle that year), Palatka was loaded with star power, with 2 of its players eventually playing in the NFL (John L Williams, and Jarvis Williams) 1982 - Going 3A once again as Titusville would shutout 3 of its 4 playoff opponents, winning the state title over Osceola 33-0 1983 - 4A Manatee High School goes 14-0 for its 1st state title and the beginning of a dynasty through out the 80's and into the early 90's   more later.......
