The "Pre HIt" screenshot confirms the pass was well overthrown (and that the DB had his head down, with his eyes focused on the WR and not the flight path of the ball).   The "Hit" screenshot confirms what I saw:  the contact from the DB comes just as the WR is landing.  And if we can't tell for sure with replay whether the WR's foot landed in bounds, on the line or out of bounds, how should a DB be able to tell in real time?  
Again, it appears to me that the only justification for calling this a penalty is because the ball was overthrown and the WR clearly didn't have the ball when he landed and contact was made.   I see that happen all the time at the pro, college and high school level with no penalty call being made.    
Trelle, would you agree with me that the hit would have been totally clean if the WR had snagged that ball?  That's why I'm asking Jambum whether, on a play like that, the DB is supposed to know whether the catch was made or not.   
Again, for what it's worth, the hit did not appear to be malicious or untimely; it was simply unnecessary because the pass was well overthrown -- something everyone in the stadium could see except the DB with his head down.

Coach Wilson taught me a lesson years ago:  Once a kid knows you care about him OFF the field as well as ON the field....he will play for you. 
It is our job to teach "The Lessons In Life" that comes with participating in team sports.  It's not about only the X's and o"s, its about the Jimmies and Joes.

Just A Coach, you are the type of Coach that most parents want to help their children. Also, most kids want to be coached and helped to the most of their abilities.

I know where I am now, we have the varsity and JV guys together for Indy with the varsity coaches. After that, the JV guys split off with JV coaches and work team stuff while varsity guys get special teams/group work. 
 
I think that places outside of Florida can have different priorities simply because with the higher salaries, there is more pressure on varsity coaches to win. 

Agreed, we have sold a bill of goods as to how bad this illness is. For some it is deadly, no doubt, for the vast majority it is not! We have become fearful men. Lakeland should be playing football and dealing with 1 case that statistically is unlikely to do anything of note.

I have my son playing in the rec league here, which is directly tied with the high school (same teams, league and use the stadium too)  kind of feel like this article is misleading, almost like saying the schools don’t want to test. The thing is they can’t afford the instant test the only thing available is the 2 week test. In my area (Huntsville) I’d had to drive about 1.5 hours to get to the nearest full time instant test facility, or the few places that offer it around Huntsville usually only do 4-8 people a day on certain days. This article made it seem like the coaches/schools don’t care and i think thats absolutely wrong, it’s they’re not a corporate sports company ie the NFL and can’t afford to do it but are trying to have some normalcy as well, while implementing their own safeguards.

I still pop in once a week or so, just give the board to Ol’ Neutral as the mod and walk away lol. It’s a shame far cry from the early and mid 2000’s when the board was really alive.

Wouldn't this be a perfect mascot in light of our "elite" and "hot garbage" discussions of late?   It is an actual mascot for a baseball team.  C'mon guys, lighten up, it's almost Christmas.
