Transfers 2017

I'm still trying to get a feel if MNW and CC will be better than last year's teams....

Central and Norland will likely both be stronger than last year..

I tend to think so with MNW.   CC will be good, but I'm not sure they'll be better.   They lose some good players.   Miami Northwestern I think gains more than they lose.  MNW was young as hell last year and did amazing IMO, I didn't expect them to be the contenders they were.

Plus the most important thing that MNW has in my opinion is that lightning fast QB.  He just gives everyone problems.

It's been a while since I've seen player lists this long at MNW.  This list is just a 2018 rivals search copy pasted, and I think they're missing still on some of the transfers.

    Divaad Wilson DB 5.8 6'0" 183     4*

    Billy Joseph LB 5.7 6'1" 205      3*

    Thomas Burns ATH 5.5 5'9" 150      3*

    Da'Vontae McCrae DE 5.5 6'5" 255      3*

    Roy Livingstone WR 5.6 5'11" 160       3*

    Demetreius Mayes DE 5.6 6'3" 234     3*

    Derrick Nicholson LB 5.6 6'2" 210       3*

    Rachad Wildgoose DB 5.3 6'0" 185      2*

    Willie Scott RB

    T. Feldman-Harris DE

    Cortland Faison DE

    Zechariah Esdaille DB   6'2" 182

    Kevin Johnson LB   5'10" 198

    Tyquan Cooper OL

    Quinton Brooks DT   6'0" 240

    Avery Hall OL   6'3" 280

    Wayne Brooks WR

    Keon Armstrong DB

    Chatarius Atwell ATH   5'7" 130

    Quavon Beckford WR   5'9" 151

    Derrick Davis WR   5'11" 178

    Kiaryn Davis RB   5'5" 144

    Nigel Bethel DB   6'0" 165

    Terron Carey OL

    Justin Hill ATH   5'11" 180

    Gecolbe Mckinnis OL

    Arron Lewis RB   5'11" 186

What's crazy is that I did this search 2 days ago and only 2-3 players had star ratings.   A lot of these kids that aren't rated are solid players with some offers.   The rating services are just struggling to catch up.

On paper, The West should be better than last season. I think they will be on the field as well. Personally I think the district title will come down to them and Central. I think CC is good enough to make the playoffs. I don't think they'll be as good as last season, but still pretty good.

Deserving - Yes.

Likely - No.

oh ik broward

i was just saying it is accually possible but it means 2 teams from that district would have to beat out 2 different runner ups out of 3 other potential districts plus the runner up in the district already

it basically means they would have to outscore (point system wise) 2/3 of the runner ups from region 4, it would take a very crazy year and a lot of help and luck for that to happen, but as you said it very unlikely

so basically it would be one wild card for the other 3 districts lol

Perhaps already mentioned but not reading back pages... STA also got Antonio Serrano 2019 OL from Belen Jesuit (fbs recruit likely, 0 offers but that will change in a month) and OLB/DE D'Andre Ragin from Monsignor Pace (fbs offers 2018 class). Also a WR from Mater Academy 2019 Jamal Cooney (0 offers I believe).

Serrano picked up his first fbs offer from Syracuse. Jahmar Brown 2019 class LB w fbs offers transfer to STA from Monsignor Pace.

2018 WR Blake Veargis has transferred from Monsignor Pace to Norland.

2018 WR/DB Teshaun Smith has transferred from Westminster Academy to Western.

2018 WR Jordan Smith has transferred from Plantation to Western.

2018 LB/S Michael Williams has transferred from Flanagan to Miami Central.

Not sure when any of these took place but figured I would update.

Western on paper should have a solid offense. Hopefully Harrison Story develops more. The offense struggled late in the season vs Miramar and Deerfield Beach

Spot on DB4. Both those WRs listed above are like 6'3 190 type guys, plus they got a couple other burners I believe ( perhaps Garcon?)...

Curious to see what they bring defensively this year. Last year they were pretty solid defensively but I believe took a pretty hard hit. Kevin Oliver for one, will be hard shoes to fill.

Oliver was a beast. And their other bookend, Matthew Hanson, signed with Akron, he was no slouch. Yeah the defense will be a big question mark, the secondary struggled last season.

Crazy how much better the offense could be if Elijah Moore didn't transfer too.

Good points DB4... Another thing to think about... I believe WR Kevin Austin out of North Broward Prep was originally a Western FR before transferring to NBP!
