That team would have cruised through the current 8A... The old FL 6A was just brutal. Top tier HS football.

I agree. I can't think of one team standing in 8A or 7A with the possible exception of St. Thomas, that would have stood in the way of the 2010 DP team. For that matter with Central and Carol City eliminated, I would clearly favor that DP team against either Northwestern or Armwood in 6A.

I’d have them about even or just below where Carol City and Central were this year. Probably about even with 2018 STA as well. We’ll never know.

Watching them play... they were just on another level unlike any other DP team I’ve seen. The Central team they played was special and deserving of the title.

Well does having a few elites and a bunch of average teams make a class better than one with no elites but strong teams top to bottom?

no but when you get to the end and STA or Central is waiting for you it is way harder than having Mandarin at the end

Oh i agree some classes may have a tougher game lined up then what you may find in 8a

But it seems we are still in agreement that 8a is strongest top to bottom

I would rather be in a class with parity than be in one with a Goliath waiting to destroy me.  Not many Davids out there that can beat them

Devonte Freeman didn't take over full time at Central until Brandon Gainer left. Gainer signed with Kentucky, but I don't think he finished there.

Killian was loaded in the early 2000s but they didn't win the state championship until the year after Bobby Washington left.

One of the best backfields I have ever seen was the 1993 Southridge team. They had three college All-Americans in their backfield, The Davis brothers and Sedrick Irvin.

    • Consequently, Lake Minneola has just announced it has cancelled spring football.  What goes around comes around.
    • And lastly with the district classifications changing. Dillard new district foes atleast for the next two years are as following    *Northeast *Suncoast  *Boynton Beach  *Dr.Joaquin Garcia    never heard of that last school, I’m assuming they’re a new program.    but a district with no STA, GIBBONS, AHP, CHAMINADE, ELY, MIRAMAR, & ETC lets see if Dillard is still a above avg program & can run away with this district and be one of the top teams in broward.    or if they fell off even more from last year & this district will be a lot closer then most predict. Guess we will see.
    • They also just won the 7on7 broward county showcase a few weeks back. So hopefully that spills over to the fall season.    I know we got a new DC & OC this year & the quarter back spot is up for grabs. Especially after last years below avg offensive production. So we will see how things are shaping up against a very solid monarch squad in the spring game May 23rd @ Dillard.
    • They bring almost 80% of the roster which was 9th & 10th graders. They got a few transfers in but nothing crazy. Atleast not yet.    from my sources it looks as if the the second year head coach for Dillard is trying to rack up some wins under his belt & not scheduling above the talent he actually has which will either A. Get him fired after this season or see more kids transfer out or both.    if Dillard can go 8-2 or dare I say undefeated & have a deep playoff round (regional finals) that could One really put the program in a bright light for transfers & also instill a winning culture back in the storied program.
    • They were a Lake County all star team because they were taking all of the Lake County players.  First Academy hired the Lake Minneola recruiter and he took a bunch of the players with him to First Academy.  Now Lake Minneola has a depleted roster with a tough schedule.  The coach wasn't aware of this until he arrived and saw the roster.
