Golden Out in Miami

today the univeristy of miami hurricanes announced the firing of Al Golden, assistant coach Larry Scott will finish the year as the iterim coach, whats your thoughts on this move?

About damn time and not saying before him that Randy Shannon was better but Al Golden was really stinking up the joint.

i dont pay enough attention to miami to know how bad golden was but it appeared it wasent a matter of if he would be fired, but when

Shannon was better than Golden, Coker was better than Shannon and Butch Davis was better than Coker....You got to have big money to pay a big time Head Coach these days and the 'Canes do not want to put up the $.   90% of the 'Canes South Florida  "verbal" commits end up elsewhere, these kids don't want to play in a 75,000 seat stadium with 18,000 in it, and on a mediocre (at best) ACC team. I will be stunned if they can hold on to STA commit Sam Bruce.  

How in the world can a rich private school like Miami not find a way to build a 40,000 seat stadium on campus? Oh, I get it they need a retired soccer player and the MLS to help them out.  That is a joke!   Of all the schools in the ACC, Miami's football program seems to be the least college atmosphere friendly.  Even the NC State, Wake Forest and Duke programs are more efficient....... It seems there is not much college football atmosphere here in South Florida anymore the "U" the "Swag" are done for a while in my opinion.  Time to hit pause for the U  and take a look at Duke on how to build a football program.

Well, firing Golden is a great start but they need to get a big name in there quick or they are going to struggle holding talent.

The program I see with an one site campus stadium is where would you put it. The Orange Bowl was located in Lil Havana which the University of Miami campus is in Coral Gables.

I said the same thing like why would 5 star talent down here wanna play for UM. Shoot and the game was close, but George Tec beat FSU I mean come on now.

We just need a good coach that understands from dade to palm beach.... Al Golden is a jearsey boy that don't want our style of players... Plus want to beef up everybody...

They may want to hire Davis back. He may be old but he knew how to win with speed and strength.

i can see many pros and cons with that, but wouldnt be that bad of a option, he did well the first time, whos to say he cant at least match his first time
