  1. The UCF National Championship claim upset a lot of the privileged elite in college football, but it also put them on notice and exposed the Power 5 Cartel for what their national championship is; an invitational limited only to Power 5 teams. Here we are two years later and UCF bitch-slapped another Power 5 team this past weekend.

  2. They use to not have national championships so you had to claim fake ones. It’s all good. I’m claiming my fake pick em contest winner championship. Don’t hate

  3. Totally. I've always pulled double duty as JV HC and a Varsity assistant and I'm the one who advocates going for two. Maybe I'm just too aggressive but I think it puts other teams in a bind, especially if you're good near the goal line, because it changes the way they have to call plays. Plus, if you go 1/2 you still have 14 points. At least that's how I look at it.

  5. Lakeland transfers vs Dade County! Let's look at the "real" numbers from "real" talent. We will exclude bench riders, followers looking for a ring, and most importantly someone's agenda. I had a really bad week. There will be a new leader. I'm still Pre Dorian 2019 Pick em champ.

  7. I'll take the W, but the coaches need to stick to what works and not try to do everything...also they make QUESTIONABLE substitutions and they still won't run the ball

  8. How about Atlantic crushing Glades Central in the Muck 49-3? ...or Booker T Washington dominating Columbus 34-11? ...or Bartram Trail upsetting Mandarin 32-7? ...or Dunnellon beating Vanguard 23-20? ...or Tampa Bay Tech stomping Plant 40-14?

They still don't have a National Championship game; it's a Power 5 Invitational. This is almost as ridiculous as when professional baseball wouldn't allow black players to play in the "major leagues". They still claimed the title of "World Champions". You can't be a national champion if you exclude half the teams that play your sport.

  10. I have always had respect for Lakeland. Last season I made a thread that demonstrated how the Naughts did not inherit a lot of highly rated transfers to win their state title. Nor have they this year, really. It was the sheer number of transfers they got this year that got my attention. I have to question what south FL powers Lakeland has beaten of late outside St Thomas. Some of the south FL teams Lakeland has invited to come play are far from powers. I also question how your data proves in no uncertain terms that Miami-Dade teams recruit better than Lakeland. The number of highly-rated players on those MD teams may simply be a function of the relative numbers of talented players available in Miami-Dade. There are a lot more 3- and 4-star players floating around Miami-Dade than there are in Polk County simply because MD dwarfs PC in terms of population. Let's be real. If a couple more 4-star players showed up on Lakeland's doorstep this year, would they have been turned away? As it is, a couple of PC teams were highly impacted (Kathleen and Lake Gibson). Kathleen lost at least 7 players to Lakeland as best I can tell. I would challenge that the relative impact of those transfers was as great or greater than the impact on any MD team. So, maybe Lakeland's lack of high star power has as much to do with "opportunity" as it does with recruiting efficacy. My issue nowadays is not recruiting or transfers, per se. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt concerning recruiting unless I have proof otherwise. And a coach cannot necessarily control if players want to come play for him. But a coach can control who plays. How a coach today can look himself in the mirror and think it is sportsmanlike to win a state title by playing upwards of 20 transfers(some of them in front of kids who have paid their dues). ....they have their lost their moral compass.

  11. And here is why no one should do rankings. Just like UCF you can’t handle rankings
    1 point
  12. Btw I'll say this as well If you hate my rankings so much or think i do such a crap job, do your own damn rankings I put in hours each week when I could be doing plenty of other stuff, if you don't agree with something that's one thing but to imply i have no idea what I'm talking about or that i didn't put in effort is a load of bullshit considering I don't see anyone else on this entire forum doing a statewide rankings even up to 25 and I've been ranking 80 teams Even if you don't agree with what i did you can at least show respect for the effort i put into my rankings!

Many schools, including a couple of elite SEC programs, have claimed "fake" titles over the years, Bama being one of them. I'm a long time Gator fan, but I'm not delusional enough to believe the Gators could beat the UCF team of the past three years.

  14. I was a JV Head Coach for a long time and I would go for two every time we scored for the sheer fact that we didn't have kids who could field goal block or a kid who could consistently kick. On our varsity team, we run a swinging gate so the defense dictates how we attack them. My personal philosophy is to go for two with your regular offense as often as possible. But, that's just me...

  15. From what I’ve seen, there isn’t a stand out at Corner. They are really missing Brown (IMG) and Cunningham (injury).

  16. Idk. Niceville and Escambia are in different classes with the recent reclassification. Niceville (7A) and Escambia (6A). It could be a coin flip of a match if they ever played.

  17. In the Panhandle. Niceville made a statement as best team. (Navarre got ousted by Lincoln). Booker T (Pensacola) is also proving their worth rolling over teams. (They have been historically bad)

  18. Atlantic and Lakes are head and shoulders above everyone else in the county, would be fun if they played this year. Gardens is pretty good too with the transfers from Dwyer, but not on Atlantic and PBL level. Atlantic with a chance to show they are big time this friday, home vs Chaminade

  21. I agree The CFP system is a joke, they may as well rename it the power 5 Championship and create a group of 5 Championship bracket (so like a open division D1 and D2 form of bracket) I'll show some people what i mean by this tomorrow

  24. All the above but BTW stomping Columbus was the surprise for me. I had BT beating Mandarin so that wasn't really an upset to me. Dunnellon could have gone either way, Dunnellon seems to get a lot of wins each season until the playoffs, Then they lose early 3rd or 4th round. Tampa Tech is better than a lot of people give them credit for. Plant on the other hand should not have gotten creamed like they did. Plant is way down i'm thinking.

  27. IMG doesn't fall under this just like Montverde in basketball. However I can tell you that a majority of private schools give Financial assistance to those that have a better athletic potential than to those that don't.

  30. Just a reminder, I'm pretty sure the East Dillon Lions refused to come out after halftime in their first game of the season when they were down 45-0. As a result, they forfeited the game. One year later, Coach Taylor led the Lions to a state championship. In Texas, no less. So don't sleep on Northeast next year.

  32. I watched the BTW game on NFHS. Columbus imploded and lost Xzavier Henderson to injury in the second half. BTW defense was great. They have a beefy Oline that can make some holes. The BTW qb was undersized, but completed some surprising passes...just enough to keep a good Columbus D off balance. 4A Region 4 will be a battle this year!

  33. Bolles beating St Augustine 28-7 was a surprise to me because from what i saw of Bolles when watching the Bold City Showcase it was very concerning and from looking at the results of St Augustine they seemed to be on the rebound Didn't expect St Augustine to lose that game
