Friday Night Atmosphere...

Part of the magic of HS football for me is the atmosphere on Friday nights...under the lights...bands blasting....percussion drumming...crowd making some noise.....

When Columbia first opened this stadium we had standing room only for a 7k seat stadium that also had people on the track, we will start getting home winning streaks once we get crowd back in the 7k range

95, we played in memorial stadium for like 65 years before getting this one, that memorial stadium bout the size of most stadiums in the area and tiger stadium like 2-3 times the size lol

In the Orlando area, in no particular order: Apopka, Boone, Lake Brantley, Jones (when on the small field, in years when they are good), Timber Creek, Oviedo, Mainland (outside the area, but has some die hard supporters).

I lived in Altamonte for about a year and wish I would have caught a Brantley and Apopka game for sure...

Lakeland has been pretty good over the years. I've been going to games there since '86. Bryant is a great stadium with a lot of old character. With the stadium being off-campus and the police escort to each game, Lakeland makes quite an entrance. Ironically, today is the 75th anniversary of Lakeland's first game at the stadium 9/26/1941.

 

Manatee has a pretty good atmosphere as well.

Apopka got some good fans, brought a good crowd just for a preseason game and I could tell they have a very respectable fan base, also noticed they had a band for the kickoff game

Best atmosphere for a HS game I've ever been at Niceville vs Lakeland 2005 hands down...the Lakeland football helmet golf cart was pretty cool too haha

We have band once season starts but for some reason we don't get band for preseason

Any stadium with a track has to pretty well be eliminated. Hard to really get a good atmosphere that far away from the field. Really good fields are when the stands are right on top of the action.

no track is preferable but that doesn't automatically mean bad atmosphere....which schools don't have a track but have good atmospheres?

In the Panhandle the best atmospheres I've seen are Pace, Niceville, Tate, and Navarre

I've never seen a band give a full performance before the game, usually only see that at hafttime

Good stuff, stands full, everyone having a good time. That is what High School football is all about.

I love Friday nights, the band playing, the smoke from hamburgers on the grill, fried shrimp and gumbo at the concession stand.  Seeing the whole town from 8 months to 88 donning their purple and gold, cheerleaders,  the ROTC color guard during The Star Spangled Banner.  Watching the boys leave everthing they have out there on the field just for the love of the game.  Great stuff. 

 

I would also like to mention what a great atmosphere Baker High has especially late in the year when its about 45 degrees and they have the best hot chocolate.

The Manatee atmosphere for home games is really loud and nice, Braden River against STA last year in the state semis was one of the best I have seen in years, it seemed the entire town of bradenton was their that night
