Columbia i hope you know i was just messin around man. If every fan was like you then every game in florida would be over capacity. You are a true loyal fan and I wish the school I coach at had students with your passion for the sport. If you plan on going to college you really need to look into becoming a student manager for the football program. It could be equipment, field set up for practice, and film duties. You should look into it if you truly want to be a part of it.

I actually just had a friend in town this weekend and he lives in Dallas, and son went to Allen HIgh School.  He told me to look up this McKinney Stadium being built that is expected to open for the 2018 season.....:

Sorry Columbia, but Tiger stadium cannot compete with this on the field or in atmosphere...

It doesn't ....But it should humble you enough to realize that Columbia football is not a true "program"  ;)    ?

And I agree it doesn't make you a better team on the field...that is part of the entire point just to show you how petty HS football is in FL outside of talent.....

These are average public school teams building these kind of stadiums.

Just understand that the overall scope of HS football of FL compared to Texas is not even a comparison beyond talent and a few top teams.

Oh and also..... If you are going to talk smack to Texas football please don't represent FL with Columbia. Don't embarrass yourself and the board....Just don't.

Sincerely,

All of us

Also something to keep in mind is that the size of the Texas schools that have these stadiums are really big schools with 5,000 students or more, Most have 3 to 4 Freshman teams and 2 or more JV teams with rosters of around 80 kids, Most of the big schools have over 100 kids on Varsity.

One large Texas school would be like adding Trenton, Bell, Fort White, Columbia, Mayo, Live Oak, Dixie Chiefland, Newberry, All schools in Alachua County and maybe even Marion County to make them equal in size. When you think about thats a big ass school with a big budget.

Talent wise i would like Florida's chances if we did that

I don't see any of the "elite" teams that you call from Florida calling Texas out

At least i got the guts to call them out

Where is these elite Florida teams that just won state and why they not trying to take the fight to Texas?

Why would the "Elite Programs" in Fla need to call out Texas schools? MNW, Central, STA, BTW, Miramar, Cocoa, Glades Central all played a Texas school already and wouldn't be scared to play them again... I even think Dillard played a Texas school.. Once again once it comes to Texas it's all about the money and I see why they would never come down here and play unless somebody playing that whole check.... Columbia ain't nowhere near in the stratosphere to be calling a Texas school out... 😂😂😂😂😂

Maybe they don't feel a "need" to call them out.  Maybe they are not insecure.  Maybe the "elite" FL teams are secure with with where they are at - and it very well may be right there (or better) with the best TX programs.  You have the guts to call them out on behalf of Columbia but why do you have the need to do so on behalf of Columbia?

What are writing a book?

If i was writing a book i would have more interesting things to talk about then the reasons Zoe Boy attended 3 high schools in 4 years

And i would write a book on Columbia if i could get more details on the older teams and someone to help me with it since I have very limited experience when it comes to writing lol

I don't think enrollments make a difference at a school in terms of stadiums. Now obviously Miami schools don't have stadiums on school grounds except privates but Broward does. Just look at these numbers and mind you none of these stadiums have big seating capacity except Traz Powell stadium at 10 000.

John A. Ferguson 4300

G. Holmes Braddock 3500

South Dade 3300

Coral Gables 3200

Felix Varela 3100

Hialeah Gardens 3000

Flanagan 3100

Western 3200

Cypress Bay 4600

West Broward 3100

Miramar 2700

A few things that keep our stadiums smaller. Piss poor management of money by our school districts. We also have so many new schools that  just haven't had time to build tradition.  Many of our older schools that were the best 50 years ago are now in more economically depressed areas and just don't have the money from boosters.  The schools that seem to have most community support are typically smaller schools.  Port St Joe like most other small schools has a packed house every Friday night but there are only 3500 people in the whole town and there is nothing else to do.  South Florida has plenty of people but so many things going on that high school ball has a lot of competition.

@Sharkbait You're absolutely correct about Miami. Down here it's so much happening that football at times can get left in the dust. Now if it's rival schools with Northwestern, Jackson, Central, Carol City and Booker T. Washington well then you can get a packed house. You will never get more than 10,000 like those Texas schools do and besides unless you go to FIU or Dolphin stadium Traz Powell only holds 10,000. Five thousand on each side.

Not only are these schools large, but in most cases there are multiple high schools in the ISD that use those nice stadiums and facilities.  In the Houston area alone, Cy Fair ISD has 11 high schools.  Ft. Bend ISD has 11 high schools.  Katy ISD has 7 high schools, with number 8 opening in the Fall.  Allen is a rare exception with their football palace for a single high school.
