Please post them if you run across any. The state doesn’t provide any info of any kind in regards to schedules, and we don’t know who people are playing until you show up at the game. Lol.

Interesting (and by "interesting," I mean I'm not the least bit surprised), Venice opens with a pair of road games and finishes their season with a road game.   In between, they play seven consecutive home games.   Seven straight home games.

Yes it could be. There is a relationship between the schools as Oasis has used Verot's field to host SSAC playoff games in the past. However, I am surprised they are playing each other.

I’m sure they won’t embarrass them if they have a good relationship with them. Maybe 49-0. Run the ball every down with the JV kids from the 2nd quarter on

Do you cover Southwest football? I think I have the complete history for every team in Lee and Collier county. I don’t have all of Dunbar’s history before they entered the FHSAA in 1967 though.

As a coach, I would take that all day as long as 2 out of the 3 road games are against a south Florida power and a good school from anywhere else including out of state. Two tough road games as well as a few tough home games would be efficient for getting ready for the post season. Why travel 3 extra games just to blow teams out when you can do the same thing at home. And you already know the gate $ is always going to be good at Venice.

No I do not cover it, moved to Fort Myers about 9 years ago and work with the schools, and have met some great people in the area. I enjoy going to different high school football games in the area and being around the game.

Nice. I’ve been to Venice and Manatee home games. Both coincidentally were playing out of state teams. (Venice vs Camden County GA and Manatee vs Don Bosco NJ)

I actually went to the state semi final game between Manatee and Dwyer years back. Dwyer had this Tim Tebow type quarterback who was a load! Manatee barely won that game. It was intense. You had to sit in assigned seats.

    • I do not. I've heard DLS sought a major out of state opponent for the early season. And I know the new staff at Lakeland is much more willing to play such games than Castle was. I've heard ESPN has been involved, though I heard that last year in regards to the Central game as well, and it never was televised. That the two played a classic game on ESPN 16 years ago might have helped pique interest.
    • Yeah Booker T. does have a new coach and replacing someone like Ice is going to be hard. Do you know who reached out to who as far as the matchup with De La Salle and Lakeland.
    • Hey everyone!  Doing things a little differently this year with the NFL Draft in coverage... this year we are LIVE STREAMING during all-three days of the NFL Draft with live coverage with analysis from a high school football perspective as well as Florida perspective with all three of Florida's NFL Teams. Here are the live stream links! NIGHT 1 - 1st Round   NIGHT 2 - 2nd & 3rd Rounds   DAY 3 - 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th Rounds
    • Lakeland will be heavily favored against both Lake Mary and BTW. This is mostly because both of those teams will be down from 2024. LM lost most everyone except for QB Grubbs, and doesn't figure to be able/willing to recruit/reload at quite the rate of most powers. BTW may be really, really bad. Casual fans may not know who their highly regarded head coach is, or where he is coaching now. But, let's just say his departure to an in-town competitor likely will bode poorly for their roster in 2025 (this is to say nothing of what the new staff may eventually be able to do.) The three toughest games prior to playoffs- by far and away- for Lakeland will be DLS, The First Academy and the major showdown in Orlando in August.
    • I see three scenarios here 1. 3-0 beat all three 2. 2-1 one lost to Booker T. Washington  3. 0-3 loose all three Are we getting the Lakeland that beat Miami Central 16-8 or the beat down from St. Thomas Aquinas 34-0
