Final Carol city 23 Dillard 0

Recommended Posts

Well the panthers season end on a night that we saw 1 of the hardest torrential down pours at a panther home game.

in a game where Dillard started their first two offensive drives of the game on their own 5 yard line or less and saw their 1st punt attempt blocked and rolled into the end zone and picked up by a chiefs player for A Td. 2pt conversion Good 4 possessions later Dillard fumbled the ball Carol city picked it up on our 45 and 2 plays later up the middle for a 45 yd touchdown fg Good 15-0 1st Qt.

after that our defense stifled carol city time after time after time but our offense couldn’t find any rhythm we got into their territory 3 times in the first half and came up with nothing.

halftime 15-0

3rd qt Dillard Got a Few turnovers a few turnover on downs by the defense but still couldn’t find any rhythm on offense end of 3rd Qt 15-0

start of 4th both teams exchanged fumbles  and both teams were solid on defense 4 min left in the game it’s still 15-0 few plays after that Dillard Fumbles And Carol city recovers on our 15 yard line 2 plays later Qb keeper touchdown 23-0 Chiefs.

dillard forced two more turnovers after that but still couldn’t cash in. Final Chiefs 23 Dillard 0

through everything i stayed until the End and can say without a shout of the doubt Dillard was not the same team tonight that they were the first few weeks of the season  they held their own tonight vs 1 of the states best Especially on defense.

KEY MOMENT OF THEGAME ??? That blocked punt into the end zone in our first possession of the game that really set the tone. So to everyone who picked Carol city u were right and the better team won Congrats Chiefs.

It sounds like Dillard was a good team that just could not score enough in the tough games. You held a number of good teams but could not find a way to beat them. Dillard won all the games it was expected to win except the Western one. But Western proved they were a much better team than thought as they win their first round playoff game.

i Agree ...if we had just a avg offense we would be a dangerous team

Man both teams were on 99 jams Thursday night and they ask both schools score predictions n one of the kids for CC said Dillard would have a doughnut on the board.. I guess they did it... Sucks it rained all night tho..

They running back also said he would run over 200 yards 3 tds and that it would b Cake... Which most def didn’t happen and it wasn’t easy for them at all our defense only gave up 15 points !!! Against 1 of the states best it just so happen Carol city defense legit Asf to & our offense wasn’t diversed enough over all all year to be able to overcome that.

    • This is probably going to impact several different schools. Sumner will probably lose several key players to transfer. This means some schools are going to be getting unforeseen boosts as well. You'd assume that the schools in that immediate area might benefit. But, in this day and age, some players could end up far away. Tampa Robinson lost their head coach to USC, and their top recruit transferred...to Chaminade in Broward County.
    • As reported by Josh on this site, Sumner's head football coach, Alonzo Ashwood, was dismissed.  No reason for the dismissal was given, but it certainly wouldn't have been based on the team's on-the-field performance.   I've got a hunch the coach crossed one of those pesky rule lines, perhaps one too many times, and left the principal with little choice.   Again, just speculation on my part.   It'll be interesting to see what repercussions this has for the Stingrays.   Here's a link to Josh's article: http://floridahsfootball.com/2024/05/20/alonzo-ashwood-dismissed-at-sumner-after-four-seasons-per-report/
    • Vero’s offense struggled the entire game, the lone score came on a scoop and score via a fumble. White showed the characteristics of a presumed first year starter. His ability is there no doubt, he’ll just need to settle into the starting role.    West Boca was much more effective- leaning on their 4* running back Javian Mallory, can see them having another good year. They would have probably won the game had it gone a little longer.
    • If all the talk from the head coach about Dillard being bigger and better this year and how last year in his first year was a trial and error for him, it better be an easy dub. Lol
    • As For my Dillard panthers , this will be a huge test for us before things crank up for real in the next few months.    right now Dillard will be coming in this game with a lot of questions. Whose gonna be the Starting QB after a lot of controversy in last year playoff lost to ely where the fans and some of the players felt the sophomore back up should have replaced the junior starter after constantly turning the ball over.    the panthers also will be debuting a new OC & a new DC for the 2024 season. Last year while the defense was average to above average. Our offense appeared to be very basic & vanilla with No real offensive schemes to get the playmakers open.    we’ve gotten a few transfers in & promoted a few great players from JV to varsity. & with this being year 2 of Dillards new head coach & being placed in a new district I’m interested to see the adjustments & progressions in this season vs last season.    this has the make to be a very good game if the weather permits for all 4 quarters, but until proven otherwise I’m going to take the knights in this game in a final score of    DILLARD 21 MONARCH 28 what do you guys think of this matchup @nolebull813 @FBGUY1989 @cribboy305
