Hey man I was in your corner in that thread. But yes, a lot of teams had their classifications shaken up this year. With all due respect to Dillard’s program, I believe that their road to a state championship just became much tougher. As I’ve said before, St. Thomas Aquinas is a big fish in a little pond. Over the past several years, they essentially have had 0 resistance in relation to winning their district, region, and even state championships in many cases. I know Dillard has a great class returning. I just hope the pandemic doesn’t continue to thwart our efforts to have a somewhat normal season. Best of luck to Dillard next year, I hope they can beat STA and prove to everyone they are a damn good team.

I’ll be pulling for the panthers brother! But I have to ask one question. Would you still be wishing Venice success and luck, if they were playing Dillard?:D

Hey bro! Good to see you're back posting. It's sad that folks can't keep things civilized and on topic. Been a pet peeve of mine since the Dallas Jackson days. One of the main reasons I just read and not respond to posts. But anyway, your Panthers lucked up and don't have to worry about my Rockets this season. Lol! Playing in 7a with STA is going to be a mission, but if they do match up the trip won't be far either way. I'm rooting for you guys. Have a few family members and friends that are Dillard alum. But I think NW has a very easy path to state in 6a. My Rockets are going to have to contend with AHP. And if that game is in Broward....Oh lord! NW has had to travel there the past two years. But we will see.

Facts, it’s either gonna be at piccalo or Otis grey, with both schools being 6 min from each other literally lol. But Dillard has turned the corner and really has shown theyre a legit force to be reckon With.

now that we’re not in the same district hopefully we can get you guys on the regular season schedule. Tbh I’m surprised to see that you dropped a class.

    • Here is a tough one. 1980 Gainesville or Tate. Both 13-1 Here is the tape of the tape. Please let me know what you think.    Tale of the tape.    Tate - class 4A only loss was against 8-2 Choctaw by 4 points  beat 12-1 Miami Columbus in the title game 35-7 but the game was in Pensacola. Meaning Columbus had to drive almost 10 hours  Gainesville - class 3A only loss was against 10-1 Palatka by 8 points  beat Titusville 21-0 in the title game on the road in Titusville
    • For 1997 I picked Carol City over Raines. It was tough but CC finished top 5 in the nation according to USAToday. And they played a tougher schedule. It’s tough when you have the top 2 teams both undefeated.
    • Yeah in the 70’s-90’s the debate will most likely be between the top 2 largest class state champs
    • 1976 - Godby HS went 14-0, defeated ledgendary Gene Cox, Leon Lions for the 1st time in school history in its last game of the regular season. Beat a Carol City Team, (that would come back the next year to win the 1977 state title), 21-15 in Lakeland, FL for the 1976 4A title. Two members of that Godby team (Sammy Knight, Chris Hobbs) would then lead FAMU to a upset win over the University of Miami. 1978 - Meritt Island - Beat Carl Madison coached (going to see the name Carl Madison alot through out the 80's),Pine Forrest for the 4A state Title 20-16 and would go on to be repeat state champs winning the 1979 state 4A state title as well, seeing Pine Forrest once again in the Finals 1979 - Merritt Island - Beat Pine Forrest 19-14 1980 - Argument could be made that 3A state Champ Gainesville HS was the states best, as they defeated Titusville on Titusville's home field 21-15, but in the end Carl Madison's (who we'll talk about again in the 80's), Tate HS has to be considered the state best destorying Miami Columbus HS 35-7! 1981 - Again 3A would again have to be where the state's best team played. Palatka after struggling in its 1st round game went on to dominate evenutally winning the state title 42-2 over Suncoast. Unlike Vero Beach (which won the 4A state itle that year), Palatka was loaded with star power, with 2 of its players eventually playing in the NFL (John L Williams, and Jarvis Williams) 1982 - Going 3A once again as Titusville would shutout 3 of its 4 playoff opponents, winning the state title over Osceola 33-0 1983 - 4A Manatee High School goes 14-0 for its 1st state title and the beginning of a dynasty through out the 80's and into the early 90's   more later.......
