Soo as i was reading thru soorts articles & etc i stumbled across that flanagan & mia central was suppose to open up against each other but the plan fell ??

Thats a waaaay better opener then east ridge.!! Against nationally ranked mia central...anyone know why it didnt happen?

Central had agreed to play East Ridge first. Signed the contract and all but tried to get out of it to play Flanagan. East Ridge wasn't having it. Poor scheduling management by Central. If you sign a contract. Honor it!

They were trying to put together a Miami-Dade vs Broward double header along with BTW-STA. More money, but it was too late.

If thats wat central wanted to do they could have been set that up im pretty sure they knew that STA BTW deal was 4 2 years. That flangan central matchups could have beein in discussion.

That should have been something looked into in January, not late June.

MC was trying to figure out how to get out of the ER game to play Flanagan a good bit before June. There were a ton more discussions in May/June because MC knew they couldn't let that many more days pass by if they wanted any shot at getting out of the contract.

soo i was rite ER want mc and really believe they have a shot.

They don't believe they have a shot. I don't think the staff is stupid. I believe ER sees this as a strategic move to get used to better competition. They are currently in a relatively weak, but large district and don't have many optional games (this may change if we go to a new format). The new staff probably wants to make them not only a playoff team, but one that can go several games deep.

They could probably do this if they could attract some of the kids that go to surrounding teams, as they used to have a fair amount of talent until the new school was built (they had two epic playoff battles with Edgewater in the early to mid 2000s when Edgewater was strong). Playing higher level competition is one way to prepare for becoming relevant again. They probably view this as a great opportunity.

East Ridge scored first. But then the wheels fell off. Final Central 59-14. East Ridge did keep it sort of competitive for a half. Halftime was Central 27 ER 14, or something like that.
