I think you have some FL teams too high.. Cardinal Gibbons looking great but not top 25 material. Top 100 I can work with but the  top 25 teams in FL to me are IMG, Central, STA, AHP, and Northwestern  right now.

Lots of respect for Osceola but #55 in the nation is a stretch IMO..  2014 and 2015 Osceola were definitely top 100 teams, but I would like to see a little more from this Kowboy team before I have them at 55 nationally ...

I also don't know if all of those teams in your top 100 from FL are quite there yet.   Carol City, Cocoa, BTW are top 100 material .  I think  Osceola, Dr. Phillips, Apopka, TCA, Southridge, and several others still need a few more games to get there IMO.

Those are just my thoughts. I don't have a list so I can't say much.

Osceola is probably a top 100 team. I strongly believe that Osceola and Jones are the best Central Florida has to offer halfway though the season.

At this stage I agree with you on the rest. They are not top 100 even though, with improvement,  they may finish the season that way.

One of reasons those teams are there is because i based the Florida teams off my top 100

If you compare Florida teams in this list to top 100 the Florida teams are all in same order

When i got into 90 range i was running out of teams that i felt should be there so i had choices of either adding teams who played in bad states but have good records,  picking power teams with average records, or picking solid Florida teams that were high on my list

Jones has potential, but they have only played 1 legitimate team of note in St. Johns .  There scheduling is mostly pretty much weak otherwise.

They do play Bishop Moore this week which is not bad but I have a inclination that Bishop Moore are not quite par for the Bishop Moore of late.  I have no problem putting Jones on a fast track to or even through the top 100 based on how they fair in November.  I know the potential is there but I need more results.  Apopka, Lakeland and Osceola and Dr. Philips are playing teams.  Jones playing one game versus a cupcake of cupcake type team  is one thing,  but you schedule 5 games or half your season versus Agape Christian, Colonial, Poinciana, Eustis, and Tavares , I'm going to hold them to it.  That is the basically the equivalent of a SFL power playing International School of Broward five times in the same season.  Seriously....That is about the level of those 5 teams.

Bishop Moore didn't lose to Titusville.  That is incorrect on maxpreps.  They did not play and I don't believe they were ever scheduled to play.  However this year Bishop Moore is not quite as good as what they have been of late but still a very good team

Edited and fixed that statement badbird.  Thank you for the correction and insight on Bishop Moore.  I have not seen much on Bishop Moore but from what I gather with central FL feedback and just as you state, the Hornets are in a slight down year. Scorestream, Maxpreps ....always subject to errors....

and I actually agree with you on Osceola.  They are not a top 50 school nationally but could be if they continue to get better.  I have them in the 15-25 range right now in Florida.  I will be attending the Jones vs Bishop Moore game.  I have yet to see Jones live but I've seen them on film a few times.  They are more talented than Bishop Moore but can they put it all together in a big game.  Playing teams like Agape and Colonial doesn't help you

I think this Osceola team might be a little young right now to compete with top 50 type teams, but they are maturing fast and from it appears adapting well to a few new offensive  sets this year.   One of the most consistent and successful programs in the state and likely are even stronger next year....

I agree they will be stronger next year but with the 8a as a whole having question marks you can make arguement they appear to be best 8a has at this point in the season

I think 8A is down.  Doesn't seem to be one dominant team but you could make a case for probably 6-8 teams right now in 8A.  I can think of 3 or 4 in Central Florida.

they are only young on the OL.  How they progress will determine where they end up.  They have a tough one this week vs Ridge Community.  I think this game will say a lot about where they are at.

If they win this game convincingly do you feel that makes them a 8a favorite or at least shows they could be separating themselves from the pact

Im not sure if the 8a is down i think it's more of there like 10 teams all at same level and no one has seperated themselves yet

As you can see in my top 100 with 26 teams from 8a in the list 8a might be deepest class but has no team separating themselves to that top spot like in other classes

In defense of Jones (a little bit), I think they had trouble getting some of the better teams to play them. The Jones/Bishop Moore game this Friday will say a lot about both teams. I am tempted to make this game instead of Apopka vs Evans.

In other words, Jones alienated themselves from the rest of Central Florida this past year. I'm still rooting for them, though... they are good.

Evans is having a tough time.

I will take Jones over Bishop Moore 35-21. I regret not doing pick'em this year because I'm somewhere above 90% for the season on the tough games. I've got it all figured out.

You should just join in,  truthfully I'm not in pickem for the prize,  I'm in it just to prove I'm the best at picking games :P

Prize just icing on the cake for me

    • Dillard - I'm not sure that hiring a HS football coach is the same as bringing a student on board the team. I think that any school can hire any football coach that they want any time they want. They can even hire a football coach that is currently coaching at another school. Where did you find that it's illegal?
    • IMO the FHSAA should simply return to the previous rules that if a student transfers from one school district to another they would be allowed to in accordance with Florida law. However, that student could only transfer for academic reasons and would have to remain out of sports for the first full season of that particular sport. As I understand it, when the Florida Legislature passed the law that allowed students to transfer anywhere and at anytime they had academics in mind. It was a law that allowed students to transfer from a poor performing school academically to a good performing school academically and not for the explicit purpose of playing a game. I wonder if the Florida Legislature fully understands what happens when students are allowed to transfer explicitly for sports and how some of those transfers seriously disturb the natural flow of events with the sports team of those schools. To make matters worse they are now proposing that some high school students, that just happen to be good at playing a game, be paid for their participation. Truly amazing.
    • In the words of Chris Rainey...
    • Independent contractors....   What will go wrong with this?
    • I seriously can't remember how many times I had to do that very thing. Like Nolebull said in another discussion, the kids know kids from other schools and where the "hot hand" is. I never entertained discussions with kids or parents of kids from other schools. I know we lost some good ones because of it but I am ok with that.
