Cocoa has the coaching advantage. Not sure they have a talent advantage. Seems great coaching is undervalued on many of these message boards. This is the last game of the regular season, Rockledge will gain confidence and should win the rest of their games before the match-up. Cocoa should be favored, they deserve to be, but Rockledge will give them a game worthy of the rivalry. And there haven't been many of those lately!

Rockledge, if motivated, should beat MI by 2 tds.  I know for Cocoa-Rockledge game motivation won't be a problem. Play-calling and playing disciplined defense will be keys for Rockledge in a closer game than Cocoa fans want to believe. With growing confidence in remainder games, Rockledge plays them close. Cocoa 31 - Rockledge 28

Alright, all you young High School sports fan. I love this chat;  1st - Space Coast Jessica, Rockledge is going to beat M.I. by 30 ( i  might check it out}. 2nd - this is a rivalry game like no other in Brevard; both teams will come out and play their butts off.  Rockledge has their best team since the Hunter Pingston, Dontravious Wilcox, Laurent Robinson, etc. back to back state championship teams of early 2000's.  Rockledge has an intersting approach to this game, cause Nov. 10 is a bigger game for the 2017 Raiders.  We shall see the coaches approach.

Cocoa has nothing to prove, they have been in these games time and time again on a much bigger scale.  Cocoa will play within themselves with a stingy defense and allow Coach Wilkerson to figure out what works best on the offense.  I look forward to seeing Rockledge come out with their new players especially in the hype of the game but this is Cocoa and they will get Rock frustrated.  Cocoa takes the game over in the 2nd half to win by 24.

Knowing the talent influx Rockledge got this year in Corbin and Tennison( and 8 others) they should stay in the game with Cocoa. Viera  in  13-6 win didn't have offense passing game rolling yet, but play-calling was equally terrible for Rockledge. Coach Younger will hopefully have it figured out by then who needs to have the ball in their hands making plays(Corbin,Mitchell). If you get some two way play with top guys (Tennison did both against Viera) they should be able to hold down offense of Cocoa. Jashaun seems to bust at least 2 a game(kick returns, punt return, or long run) so if he stays with that average it could make for a close game. Also most believe Tennison(sophomore) is the best Defensive player in county this year, next year for sure.

Believe this.  Palm Bay is no Cocoa! What will Rockledge do any differently than they did at Viera or Osceola?  I see Cocoa being a better team than both of them and your getting them at the end of their season prepping for playoffs (SCARY).  So Cocoa goes into that game like it's a playoff game, best know Coach Wilk has them hitting on all cylinders!  just ask the Cocoa transfers that went over to the Rock they know what's coming their way (Work Ethic, Preparation & Focus).

I assume the highlighted part is Cocoa vs The Rock.

Yes, this one is getting heated up and should be a good first half. Second half belongs to Cocoa. Wilks makes better adjustments. 42 -28 Cocoa.  Rockledge just doesn't have the talent needed to win this.

The Rock vs M.I. should be a good game as teams are a little more evenly matched with Rockledge having the edge on defense. Defenses will need to work hard, and the better defense wins this one. I'll go with Rockledge, 28 - 17.

Lets revisit this after MI-Rock game. If Rockledge is as improved as I think, they will beat MI convincingly. Not saying Rockledge can beat Cocoa, just think it won't be the usual blowout. Too much new talent not to make a difference in score.

Younger and his staff talked a lot of trash last year, and was embarrassed again by Viera & Cocoa. If they talk anymore this year they are idiots for not learning the lesson. Beating a Palm Bay or MI is not it.

I agree, Both teams need to focus on what is in front of them.

Cocoa has Bartram and Pahokee before Rockledge. Both games will need Cocoa's full attention.

Cocoa 42 Rockledge 10, Coach Wilk won't let a former player beat him and Cocoa is just to deep. As for a potential first round matchup with Cocoa Beach, My God I hope not.......Who wants to see that....I love Coach Lowe and and his team is having a great year but these two teams played 8 straight years from 2007-2014 and Cocoa was 8-0 and outscored the Minutemen 398-35, shutting them out five times.....I'm sure this is not what the new FHSAA rules intended for the new playoff point sysytem---things need to be tweaked a bit...

I can't believe Cocoa Beach is eligible for a play-off birth. They are terrible. They only have a winning record because their schedule is so weak. Something is wrong with the system if BTW is out and CB is in.

BTW and Cocoa Beach are in different Regions. So they do not cancel out each other.

Time to bring this thread back so Cocoa fans can adjust their overblown projections for the game.    Rockledge 26    -   Cocoa 28 in a squeaker!

    • When you right you right fam. At the end of the day. Anybody in dade, broward or palm beach know bout Dillard and know we don’t duck no team home or away. We down to line up any day.    but none of that puts points on the score board or guarantee victory. You can be ready and confident all you want, but if your team doesn’t have the personnel to match a national power house who gets in loads of transfers year and year out, 9/10 that score is going to be fairly lopsided.    and as much as I bleed Dillard day and night, and as much as it pains me to say. Dillard is not in Miami central, norland, sta, or chaminades league going into the this upcoming season. Let them beat up on each other.    I believe this is a perfect schedule for Dillard if they’re atleast still an above avg program they should win this district with ease and have no more then 2 loses this year.    if not and they struggle even with this schedule then Dillard as a program is most def going backwards and I would hate that for my Alma mater.
    • I agree with you on everything you said. Why play these powerhouses and get the butt kicked out of you. Yes you're not running away from good opponents, however what does a 63-0 loss due to the morale of a bunch of young men.
    • Welcome to the new wonderful wild west of high school football in Florida. We need to create a new position at each school. Recruiting coordinator. Because that is the only way to win big in this state now at the highest levels. The haves can turn into have not by losing one cheater coach.
    • There are zero coaches on campus, every single coach left
    • There is 1,750 kids in the school. That would be their fault if they can’t field a team of 40-50 players. I know it sucks about the mass exodus. I get it. But even though they won’t be competitive for the time being they should at least have enough varsity players returning, JV kids, and newcomers to field a team.    They should have had an assist at coach resume spring workouts, and maybe got in on a jamboree with lesser teams or held an inter squad scrimmage. But to cancel everything seems a bit erratic
