The talent distribution from 8A north/south looks pretty even. Here are my top contenders:

Wekiva

Deerfield Beach

Dr. Phillips

Apopka

Miami Columbus

Palm Beach Central

Delray Atlantic

Vero Beach

Osceola

Miami Southridge

South Dade

Sarasota Riverview

Seminole

This is in order??

The only higher-tier recruit I found from Apopka was 4-star, senior offensive lineman William Barnes.

Here are the higher-tier players from Wekiva.  Their defense will be lights out.  They have a qb with upside potential.  Any other playmakers on offense?

Malik Tolbert(Sr) 3-star WR

Rian Davis(Sr) 4-star LB

Tyler Davis(Sr) 4-star DT

Norell Pollard(Sr) 3-star DT

Renardo Green(Sr) 3-star CB

Jarvis Ware(Sr) 3-star CB

Cayvian Holmes(Sr) 2-star CB

Brandon Hill(Sr) 3-star S

Apopka is also one of most consistent and well coached teams in the state

It would be crazy to count them out

It is generally in order.

Apopka never has tons of D1 talent. They usually beat the teams who do.

Hey, Pipe................can you give us the reasoning, or just your reasoning, how Apopka can be consistently one of the better teams if not one of the best teams in the state with homegrown talent only? They are just a small suburban/rural town north of Orlando and not really in the hubbub mix of things in the huge city of Orlando. Is it their coaching, the players love the school, the the fans and boosters support, or maybe all of the above. I really have great respect for any school that does it on their own and does not rely on outside talent to become or to stay competitive.

All of the above... in order I'd go

1) Coaching & Execution

2) Town/School Support (Expectations)

3) Athletes

4) Solid Youth Program

-

Apopka is by no means starving for talent, but it is not what puts them over the edge... Coaching & execution are by far #1 to me.

From a talent perspective they'd probably be in the top 15 in Central Florida every year, but their coaching puts them in the top 3-4 consistently.

You’ve included some 2018s in this list. William Barnes graduated as well as Holmes and ware.
