Serious, any team that has talented athletes can win as long as they have a capable coach. Sometimes the better team loses on turnovers or penalties, or just a bad bounce of the ball. We've seen teams down 14 points come back in 2 minutes to win or tie. Happens a few times a year. Just have to be in the game when the time is running out.

Glades certainly has the talent. Not probable that many teams in 4A beat Booker T in the South, but Cocoa has the best chance if both teams play a good game. The regional final will be at Traz Powell if BTW plays Cocoa. It's a very hard stadium for visiting teams to win at.

Would like to see the FHSAA move Cocoa back to the North. Not because of an easy road to the finals but to make the 4A championship more interesting.

Is it still that way since they are doing seedlings for the playoffs?

What if BTW slips up and ends up #2 in their district

Well districts are gone so it would be regions but what happens is semifinals are hosted by flipping the region each year if I'm correct which means region 4 hosts region 3 in 4a regardless of who wins it

The host is the team with the most points. It's a new rule.

Hmm can you send me a link to where you found that,  i was unaware and would like to read up on the rule

 From the FHSAA.com football manual

4.7.2.3.2   State Semifinals  (a) Dates and Times.  See the football webpage at FHSAA.ORG.

(b)Bracketing.  The Region 1 champion will play the Region 2 champion, and the Region 3 champion will play the Region 4

champion in the state semifinal games in each classification.

(c) Host Schools.  One of the two competing schools shall be designated as the host school for each state semifinal game, and shall

determine the site of the game for which it serves as host.  The host schools shall be designated as follows: teams with the

highest regular season wildcard point average will be designated “home” team.

    • The biggest problem at public schools right now is 2 things. One, they are hiring radicals who are more interested in indoctrinating kids with extreme ideologies rather teaching them basic fundamental skills to become well rounded adults. And 2, they are not getting rid of the worst students who take from the kids who want to learn. If kids skip school they should be expelled. Drugs. Expelled. Fights. Expelled. They can stay home and do E-learning. But these public schools keep, and sometimes cover up crimes and poor behavior. Get rid of the kids who don’t want to learn. You gotta tighten the ship
    • Better to have some kids thrive, then none. Every kid who goes to a private school and thrives is a net benefit to society. Plus your scenario assumes that the private schools don’t already have great teachers taking up all spots available
    • I’m glad those recruiting rules don’t apply to Broward & Dade county…….
    • Or the private schools will use their combination of private money and public money (i.e., vouchers) to hire away the best teachers, leaving the rest at the public schools to teach those who don't have the resources -- even with the vouchers -- to send their kids to private schools.  Of course, if this happens, there might be a few folks who will brag that it all worked out the way it was planned.
    • Yeah, if you're in a in a program that has accountability and structure the season never really ends. January to August is when you win championships. I just hope the fans understand and respect that. The coaches should be paid accordingly for the time, effort and sacrifice they put in for the school and football program. Oh, and that 100 degree heat aint no joke for the players, trainers and coaches.
