Let's revisit Orlando Jones for a sec...

What are your thoughts on Jones now that the season has progressed?   They started out a bit ugly against national power St. Johns College.    They went down BIG eearly and actually made the game somewhat respectable, and SJC turned out to be a very solid team.   Since then they've done very well.   One score that stands out to me is a 37-7 trashing of Bishop Moore.

Can they surprise and contend for 5A?

Bishop Moore doesn't seem to be what they were the last few years.

I knew for 100 percent fact they would get killed by SJC because talent and coaching beats the hell out of just talent all the time.

Jones has a soft ass scheudle outside of B Moore. That is a solid win and they did play Cocoa really close last year in the playoffs.

They will lose to a team who can match their athleticism and has more competent coaching. That's the Achilles heel in Florida. Coaching

Jones is a very solid team. They could be the best in Metro Orlando, although there are about three other contenders for that spot. Being in Region 4, of 5A, they have a very tough road in 5A.

They would have to clear, potentially, both Cardinal Gibbons and American Heritage. If, somehow, they could get through Gibbons and American Heritage, I believe Jones would win the 5A title. They are that talented.

And, BTW, like him or not, Elijah Williams, their head coach, is competent. He had a couple wins over Apopka to prove it when he was at Orlando Oak Ridge. I am not sure about the full complement of assistants he has there with him.

Does Apopka have a good coach?

It's a general statement.  Are you a female?  Real question.  Because that definitely is a feminine response. Taking a general statement and literally applying it to 100% of everything.

If someone says an area of town  is bad with crime  it doesn't mean every single resident  of that area is a criminal.

There are plenty of good coaches around the state.

Rick Darlington, Castle, Robert Weiner, Bill Gierke, Mark Guandolo, and Ice Harris just to name a few.

Now there are teams that can stack all star rosters and be successful like Roger Harriot, Pat Surtain, Verlon Dorminey and David Penland. These guys just recruit the best players in the area and can just out class the rest of the teams in their division.

A lot of times these teams go out and lose to less talented better coached teams from out of state. AHP almost lost against Colquitt who lost 5 games and got blown out many times. It's because the coaching for Colquitt kept them in it and AHP is run by chickens with their head cut off.

This state doesn't invest enough money in head coaches and assistant coaches and it shows in top national matchups all the time
