I like to make my picks for every playoff game then compare it to the computers projections. Just for fun. These are the games we disagreed on

8A - I picked Osceola, they picked Newsome 

 

7A - I picked Viera, they picked Martin Co.

I picked Seminole Ridge, they picked Melbourne 

I picked Homestead, they picked S Broward 

 

6A - I picked Countryside, they picked Braden River

i picked Sumner, they picked Northeast

i picked S Ft Myers, they picked C Creek

 

5A - I picked N Marion, they picked WFL

i picked Dunnellon, they picked B Moore

 

4A - I picked AHD, they picked GC

 

3A - I picked Tampa Catholic, they picked CDS

 

2A - I picked NFC, they picked SJP

i picked Orangewood, they picked HTE

i picked Victory, they picked Foundation 

I picked True North, they picked J Carroll

 

1A - I picked Sneads, they picked Liberty

i picked Ft Meade, they picked Wildwood

Interesting, you disagree on more than half the games. Which computer rankings are you comparing your picks to?

No we agreed on almost every single game. This is the few we disagreed on. I’m using Calpreps and their projections

Ahh, am I bad, you did say every playoff game. Lazily, I assumed it related to the games we were given for the playoff competition.

Probably should have rolled with the computer on this one. Braden River by double digits.

At the start of the season I would guess at some of my picks and get them right. As the year progressed I'd research teams and make a pick based on common opponents, average margin of victory, etc. My picks started to fall off. I've gone back to just guessing.

[Perspective]

When in doubt:

Pick No. 1 seed over No. 8 seed every time.

Pick No. 2 seed over No. 7 seed every time.

Pick No. 5 seed over No. 4 seed (unless you're really, really confident in the No. 4 seed).

For No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 seed, pick obvious favorites and then flip a coin for the rest. 

It's so easy I don't even bother to do it.
