For the most part, they are directly correlated with population. Nothing strange there.

What will matter more is how many are represented in the Regional finals and beyond.

Yeah it wasn’t a pecker measuring contest. Just a breakdown. And yes population does reflect most. Manatee with 3 is surprising. And what’s crazy is they all lost in the 1st round. Wonder when’s the last time no Manatee Co team at all made the 2nd round

Sebastian River and St Edwards in Indian River county left the FHSAA for independent status and SSAC, leaving Vero as the only school eligible for the playoffs. One of the more odd situations considering Indian River is shown to be the 31st out of 67 counties in population for FL and they only have 1 team that’s apart of the FHSAA for football.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you'd have to go back to 1981 when Evans (Orlando) defeated Manatee in Rd 1.

Pinellas has 12 schools but they will mostly get smoked out in the first two rounds.

Where are you getting that at?

Lakewood vs TC is a toss up

Calvary is favored over Berkeley

Largo is favored over East Bay

East Lake is favored over Plant

CCC plays IRC so one has to win

CDS is favored over northside

Pinellas could have 3-5 teams in the 3rd round easy

Since when was East Lake favored over Plant?

I'm guessing that's the school of thought because EL is the #1 seed and Plant is the #4 seed (based on the power ranking system that no one can explain).

I checked with my bookie and he said Las Vegas hasn't posted the spread on this game yet, but he thought it would likely be EL minus 3 just because of the home field advantage.  B)

My very own VeniceIndiansFootball Marquee matchups predictions! :

Osceola beats Treasure Coast by about 10 in a low-scoring affair.

Vero Beach does just enough to sneak past Melbourne.

Edgewater over TBT in a shootout.

Venice flattens Lehigh.

Lakewood beats Tampa Catholic.

Jesuit by 14 over Gaither in a closer game than some expect.

Cocoa slaughters Palm Bay.

Columbia prevails over Escambia.

Northwestern puts up a hell of a fight against Central in the first half before their wheels fall off in the 3rd quarter.

Plant over East Lake by a touchdown.

Largo by 14 over East Bay.

Sarasota shocks Riverview.

Madison over Union County.

West Orange takes care of business against Ocoee.

AHP flattens Boynton Beach.

Naples flies past Port Charlotte.

Aquinas beats Atlantic again.

Gibbons over Calvery Christian, HUGE!

Dillard survives a wild upset attempt by Blanche Ely.

TCA continues their dominance of 1A with a massive victory over Orlando Prep.

CMD huge over Avant Garde.

Mainland over Rockledge in a very tight game.

Trinity Catholic big over Father Lopez.

Frostproof over Desoto.

CCC over IRC.

Lakeland with another big win over Mitchell.

Pahokee by 10 over Chiefland.

Cardinal Newman continues their track in the right direction with a win over Benjamin.

Bartram Trail stays unbeaten with a strong win over Creekside.

Yeah I dont consider the private schools as really representing the county but I suppose they count too even with their ridiculous advantages.  CCC is the only lock.  I expect Calvary and Largo to win but they both certainly can lose to their opponents.  ELHS and Lakewood maybe are slight underdogs but can certainly win.   Northside is an underdog to Carrollwood Day School.  As far as public schools go, Lakewood, Largo and ELHS are the only ones in the second round.  Pinellas public schools rarely do well, with Lakewood being the usual only bright star.
