They did a few years ago but faced a very loaded team and we're in 7a final 4 i think in 2014 but lost to Osceola i beilive and were good last year but lost 3 straight to end season, they could win 6a region 1 but would have to face vanguard, lake Gibson or armwood

You only make it as far as your talent and coaching takes you.  The fans in Niceville will turn out whether they win it all or go 3-7 the passion and support is love of the team you see it all over the panhandle.

Every game is a full house.  It is a spectacle that must be seen if you like high school football.  And it isn't just Niceville,   Crestview, Navarre, Choctaw, Baker are all the same.   Come to Niceville games for the band.  It isn't often you see a band with 350 members.  It is fun, and yes I wish we had more games.   I've been going for 21 years and still love it.

Freshmen won the 1st quarter 6-0.  JV won the 2nd quarter 6-0.  Varsity won the second half 17-0.  Both teams worked on fundamentals and played everyone. Nothing more than a scrimmage it appeared.  I laugh at the S. Floridateams treating the KOC like a real game.   But we had a big crowd for a scrimmage.

In large cities in Florida, you will probably never get this type of support. Reasons? Too many other things to do, population more transitory (both within parts of the city, and with respect to staying in the area), less sense of community (relates to the transitory nature of the population), too many different schools which lead to kids transferring may 2 to 3 times during their high school years.

Darter,

That is why I don't live in a big city.

There are benefits to live in small towns and rural areas. For one, you tend to have better, longer lasting friendships and a much better sense of community.

Unfortunately, on the other side of the coin, there are less opportunities to make a living. The trade off is real.

I hope to try and keep my friendships but I'm always worried it won't be the way i want it to be

We are fortunate here, large military bases, all services, and a large government and contractor work force.  Plenty of opportunities

Although part of Metro Orlando, because it is in the extreme Northwest of the County (Orange County), in some respects, Apopka still has some of the features of "small town" America. This has been slowly changing, though.
