This school has appeared in several state title games during its history.  In those games, the team never completed more than 5 passes and in only one of those games did they pass for more than 40 yards.  They once won a state title without completing a pass in the game.

Who is the team?

My guess would be Cocoa though..

The correct answer team makes Apopka look like a passing machine.:)  In the 2012 title game, Apopka threw for 254 yards and had 2 passing TD's.  In 2013, Apopka had 216 passing yards and 2 passing TD's (vs only 143 rushing yards).  And in 2014, with only 82 passing yards, they managed a passing TD.  Apopka is a fantastic running team, but they can throw the ball, too!

It's not Apopka. In the 2012 State title, APK racked up a lot of passing yards. Well over 200 and possibly over 300 as Zack Darlington had a night for the ages both passing and running the ball. Two big catches come to mind in that game. A long toss to Ray Ray Smith for over 70 yards for a touchdown and a big catch by Trey Hendrickson for well over 50 yards as he out jumped a defender. On the first play of the game he also had a 40+ yard toss to another receiver whose name eludes me at the moment (Jacob Whitlock?) to set up the first score of the game.

Prior to 2010, Madison County played in 5 state title games.  They had a total of two passing TD's in those 5 games.  In the 4 title games last decade, they threw for a whopping, combined total of 84 yards (4 completions/24 attempts).  But this decade, Madison County was "pass happy" in the 3 title games they have played, completing 22 of 35 passes for 302 yards and 2 passing TD's, including a 132-yard passing effort in 2012 against University School.  So, it is not Madison County.

Has the team appeared at state since 2000?

This was a very tight call.  Both Cocoa and Osceola have played in 5 state title games, and neither has ever completed a passing TD in one of those games.  In their 5 title games, Osceola has attempted slightly more passes, has had a game in which they completed more than 5 passes(6 vs Titusville in the 1982 3A final), and had more than 1 game with more than 40 passing yards (just barely).  So, the answer is Cocoa!

Cocoa beat Madison County(another big running team) at Boot Hill in the 2010 state semis. You know there was not much passing in that game!  As it turned out, Cocoa did not complete a pass that game, and only completed 1 in the state final that year.

Cocoa HS State Title Game Stats

2017 91 yds rush/62 yds pass(4completions/13attempts) LOSS

2016 425 yds rush/0 yds pass(0/1) WON

2010 131 yds rush/22 yds pass(1/1) WON

2009 316 yds rush/37 yds pass(4/4) WON

2008 115 yds rush/37 yds pass(3/14) WON

TOTAL 1088 yds rush/158 yds pass

In 2010, Cocoa's star back at the time, Chevelle Buie, was suspended for the semifinal and final games.  As stated above, Cocoa beat Madison County in the semi and then beat Glades Central in the final..all with only 1 completed pass.  That tells you how deep they were at the rb position.  They had a tough defense that year, giving up only 44 points in 4 playoff games.

But it has to take more then jus reliable backs to pull that off right ? Lol like do they line up in a lot of misdirection & etc Which looks like passes but it’s not or do they show it’s a run opponents know it’s a run but still can’t stop it ???

Because we are talking about humans vs humans right lol
