That's hella good!!! Why would it be bad for Jackson?

Well, if I am not mistaken Uncle Luke has been a Def. Coord. for about 5 years between MNW, Central and Norland.  His Defenses have generally done very well.  Head Coaching is a different animal than DC. Lots of responsibilities....it will be interesting.  My guess is Jackson will improve from that 3-6 2015 record ( they were much better than their record though in a tough District).   The District will be much weaker in 2016 and I think Jackson can battle for that #2 spot.  If I am not mistaken Jackson's biggest problem was Defense as well so we'll see.....

AMH will run away with that District with ease. What is left of  Coconut Creek's best players are heading to Deerfield Beach and many of Hallandale's players are heading to Miramar.

FootballScoop with the scoop on North Marion:

North Marion (FL): Willie Offord has been named head coach. Offord was most recently an assistant at Newberry College (D-II – SC)

Rumors are circulating in the Miami Herald and USA Today that Miami Jackson may have hired Lakatriona Brunson  whom will be the first female Head Coach in Florida History.   The other talk is that Luther Campbell "Uncle Luke" will be her assistant.   Both publications are emphasizing that nothing is official yet.

I smell a Reality TV show around the corner.  The county or FHSSA needs to look into this.  If this is the case, it is not fair for the  kids to take a backseat in their HS Football careers to a damn political correctness movement, or possible reality tv show /media circus act.

Rumors are circulating that Flanagan head Coach Devin Bush will join the Michigan Wolverines in the coming days.  Defensive Coordinator Stanford Samuels is expected to become the Flanagan Head Coach.

Gary Curreri of the  Broward Sun Sentinel  spoke to Coach Bush and Bush refuted reports that a job at Michigan is almost a done deal.

I've been hearing about Bush to Michigan for about 2-3 months now on the national board (in between all the barking) so no surprise that is now being reported as a matter of days til it happens.

Flanagan's HC Devin Bush is officially heading to Michigan. Bush started as a DC his son's Frosh year and then inherited an average Flanagan program, which he went on to build  over the next three years as Head Coach.  One thing interesting about Bush is he coached most of his players since they were in youth football.   Very few left, and in fact a couple came Home to Flanagan for their Senior year to try to make something special happen. Bush and Flanagan went on to bring a Public School State Championship back to Broward County after a little drought.  Coach Bush's  Flanagan teams were great to watch, particularly defensively. Usually undersized, physical and yeah- highly penalized...Bush's Dirty Birds to me represented what South Florida football is all about.  Thank you Coach Bush for a great run,  and best of luck to him at Michigan.

    • Some kids NEED to transfer to get in the best position to change the trajectory of their entire life. Could literally save their life. Difference between going to college and being stuck in your neighborhood getting lost to streets.    And I can only speak for myself, but I’m more interested in a at-risk kid changing his situation for the better in hopes of saving his life than your favorite high school team losing a game because he transferred from your favorite school.
    • I wouldn’t be so critical of the FHSAA if they didn’t lie and say they give 2 craps about student athletes. I wish people would just be honest. But I guess if they were honest, it would mess up their hustle.
    • Wait are you saying there is a rule that bars an adult mentor who coaches young men a sport from helping a struggling student athlete and his family with transportation? Whoa that’s next level crazy.    “Hey coach I’m on the side of the road and almost got hit. I’m miles from school and it’s 110 degrees out. Can you get me a ride?” ”Sorry. Some turds 6 hours away in Gainesville said I can’t. Hope you don’t get hit or pass out.”
    • Say what you want, justify it however you want, wish the rules weren't what they are, but there is no question that a coach or other school representative paying for Uber rides for kids playing sports is a violation of the existing FHSAA rules.  Period.  And Teddy Bridgewater may be or have been an elite athlete, may be or become an excellent high school football coach, and/or may have his heart in the right place, but tweeting out a message to the world that you have done something that undoubtedly constitutes a violation of the rules is just plain stupid.
    • Officially 13 left First Baptist.  Golden Gate, even after the return of Coach Bigica, lost 6 to other schools. The two biggest gainers were St John Neumann (11) and Community School (9)
