    Viera robbed by Refs

Viera loses 22-18 on bogus calls by refs. Plant gets a BS unsportsmanlike conduct call against Viera(for playing HELLS BELLS sound after offense broke huddle ) on defense to gain a first and goal inside 10 yd line and scores with 8 seconds left in game. Game was almost as bad as Rockledge-Cocoa game by refs. Refs took away two Viera tds, one on a bogus holding penalty on a return, another from a time out call by plant as Viera scored in first half. Refs called penalties against Plant but not in crucial situations. Read that again, They moved the ball inside the 10 with a minute left in game because they said the bell sound for third down was played at the wrong time.Bell sound was played on every third down in game, but refs flag it inside a minute to go in a play-off game? UNBELIEVABLE ! I knew Plant coaching staff was experienced but that is embarrassing. Plant also used fake injuries to slow Viera offense in second half, players faking hurt going out for a play then coming back in to game, 7 times, really? Plant defense could not compete in 2nd half, big but slow and exhausted, but coaches found a way to slow down Viera. Lost all respect for Plant, but coaches know how to work a ref crew.

  5. In a playoff rematch with the Chiefs from Miami, the Dade county school put just enough points on the board to beat the home town "good guys" 17-10. CC didn't appear to be as strong as last year, but they got the job done, regardless. Oh well, best team in the county again for the umpteenth time. Congratulations players, coaches and all the behind the scene people who keep this winning thing going. See y'all in the spring......Buc Forever

  7. Friday night proves to be one of the best nights for playoff football in Brevard. Rockledge takes on Cardinal Gibbons, Melbourne Central Catholic will test Oxbridge Academy, Cocoa should handle Avon Park decidedly, and Viera will have it's hands full with Tampa Plant. 7A looks like one of the better brackets now that the playoffs have started. Getting to STA will be no easy feat for any of the North Florida teams. Viera has one of the best passing records in 7A, with Demorat passing for 2,192 yards and a QB rating of 118.7, with 21 TD's and just 4 int's. McCloud for Plant has 1,778 passing yards, with 24 TD's and 8 int's. Plants QB, McCloud, has 324 rushing yards and 5 TD's, while Demorat has 202 yards rushing and 6 TD's. Both QB's seem capable of leading their teams. Both teams have a stable of RB's, but the Panther's lead in the stats with 2,122 total yards, and an average of 192 per game over Viera's 1,299 yards, for an average of 129 yards per game. Both teams use a shotgun QB, with 1 or 2 backs. Plant will have twins out wide, while Viera will go spread. If either QB has time they will find a receiver. Plant has a more balanced game, but at the price of playing a softer schedule. Viera has some impressive wins this season and seems to be hungry to prove they are worthy of playing for a title. Both teams have been in the playoffs the last few years and know what to expect. Viera will have home field and that could play a factor because Viera's home crowd with the band can get real loud. If the Panther's can get the run game going with a decent passing game then I expect a very close game. Maybe field position and special teams will play a big role. Both teams hit hard and have speed. The Hawks can and will air the ball out. Demorat is dangerous if he has time and the receivers will catch the ball in clutch plays. The Panther's run game is better when the passing game is working. Plant has the talent to break runs of 20 yards or more and they will break a few. The stats; Plant has a strength of schedule of 23.7, and is ranked 34th in Florida. The Panthers are giving up an average of 7 points per game and scoring an average of 37 points. Viera's strength of schedule is 35.1, and ranked 7th in Florida. The Hawks are giving up an average of 8 points per game, and scoring an average of 35 points. Who wins. I'm going with Viera because of the tougher schedule. This really shouldn't be a surprise. Viera has been quietly building a championship team and the Hawks have the coaching to take the team all the way. Viera worked hard on conditioning over the summer and it shows. Plant has been in big games many times and is aware of what is in front of them. I have a feeling this is going to be a hard hitting game and both defense's will be called on to go that extra mile. The defense that answers the call will carry their team to victory.

You can't make that statement, none of the 407 teams play the top Miami schools Almost all the good OC teams are in 8A, which features none of the top south FL programs, good ones, but not top. So it gives the illusion that they have a number of state level elite programs when in reality they just get to dodge the STA's, MC's, MNW's, etc. of South FL. OC has a lot of good teams, but no elite ones, at least this year (not saying they haven't had any in years past) All the population center counties Dade, Broward, PB, Hillsborough, Orange, Duvall put out elite talent And the Cardinal Gibbons- Jones game was never in doubt. It was 20-7 CG at the end of 1, 30-16 CG at the half, and 40-24 CG after 3. Not necessarily a blowout, but the game was never in doubt. Certainly not a "tough" game, and CG was on the road

haha not butt hurt at all was just giving you a hard time. Winter Park has been to the third round 8 times in their history and 3 times in the state semi's. Two of those third round games were state semi's before they expanded the playoff system. They have never made it to a state finals. Now on a state level they are not Apopka, DP, Osceola or Mainland but they are definitely one of the top 10 programs in Central Florida year in and out. I get you point they are not elite but no one said that. However they are a pretty good team that is playing in the regional finals so instead of bashing them or calling you a clown I choose to give them a little credit for the job Coach Shifflet and his staff has done. Wekiva is a newer program that picked up 9 Apopka transfers. A good reason why they are probably where they are at right now. They have an elite defense that would be considered one of the best in any part of the state. Offensively they are above average. Reminds me of a Flanagan a few years ago but not on the same level as them for sure. In a down 8A if they come to play for the next 3 weeks they are a real threat.

    Viera robbed by Refs

I’m not a Viera fan, so I’m not making excuses. I always wanted to watch a Plant game because of their winning program history. I’m very disappointed in what I saw...sad and disgraceful. Like I said obvious fake cramps. Wasn’t hot enough to lose that many electrolytes to cramp over and over again this deep in the season where everyone should be in football shape. So it’s either electrolyte imbalances from a serious health i.e. kidney disease, malnutrition in half the defense, or flopping. You made a confused face on my earlier post. Not sure what you’re confused about.

    Frost proof @Pahokee

That’s the truth...They’ve played a tough schedule, but they don’t have any major injuries. J. Washington (#5) has missed the last 2 games, but I think they just held him out tonight. It’s something mental going on with the kids (team), because they play in spurts. Defensively, they will shut you down 2 consecutive possessions and then relaxed on the third (like the game is over) and give up a big play/score...That was the Frostproof game in a nutshell. One of the coaches said, that if we play like we’ve practiced all week (starting on Monday), we will either lose or it will be a close game.

    BULLS VS ROCKETS

I think they're the team to beat next year with some of those young studs they have. Central will always have a nice D and Oline, and if they get a nice QB in transfer season watch out!

    BULLS VS ROCKETS

Dalvin Cook was the best high school RB I have ever watched play in my humble opinion
    1 point
  21. I would agree with Dalvin being the stronger of the two.... James looked like he almost had a pick 6 tonight but could no pull it off. I do think James Cook however was the best DB on Central this year and could likely transition well in college if needed.. Maybe it's the Atwell factor but MNW's Offense just looks more dynamic overall then Central. To me Atwell is the most dangerous offensive weapon in the state. What is the future for Central at this point? I believe they were very Senior heavy this year.

Central coaches are worse than ours! Lol... i want to see how he performs in college.. I think Dalvin has more heart and plays with more of a sense of urgency... wouldn't be surprised if he plays db in college.

  23. I was at the game MNW up 17-0 in the 4th and pulled off a onside kick and then scored quick to make it 24-0. Half the stadium left and missed Central go down swinging.... Side note ...It seemed that James Cook only touched the ball a couple times in the first half which was a surprise to me.

MNW needs to close out games! Can't believe they almost blew that one. Mnw musta went full on Will Muschamp in the second half.

  26. That is unfortunate when the zebras likely determine the outcome of a match. The refs should have issued a warning/side-line warning earlier in the game if it was an issue but it sounds like they waited until a penalty could determine the outcome of a game.

Nolebull doesn't know Central Florida. I know that for a fact. I was the one who called him out on that stupid post. He may know other areas and that is fine. Don't give him any credibility with CFLA. He has none. Orange County is #2 behind Miami-Dade. Things have changed.

  31. I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season and I enjoy this web site and all the conversation very much. Unfortunately now that football has come to an end for my local teams (most important, my son's team) My last bit of words will be; I just watched close to what could be considered a crime scene at Viera High School tonight. The better team did not move on to the Regional final. Everyone Happy Holidays!!!!

  33. Great game that came down to the end. Osceola blocked a punt that set up a Fg with 2 minutes left to take a 13-10 lead. Tanner Ingle returns the kickoff after dropping it about 50 yards to Osceola’s 30. With 15 seconds left McCray gets forced out of the pocket and a LB steps up leaving a wide open D. Alford for the winning TD. two really really good programs. good luck DP next week.

    Viera robbed by Refs

Not a Viera fan, just an all around Florida high school football fan that lives in Brevard. Went to the game...wow what a lack of ethics from Plant. Do their coaches really teach these young men to throw away their integrity? Obvious fake cramping to stop momentum play after play in 65 degree weather. Never seen anything like it.
