you might have went 0-9 but hopefully you blew this point system up. I hope the FHSAA does some real research and makes some major changes to the system. Not just have a meeting and raise points for losses because a few AD's want that and think it will help. They tried to make sure a BTW didn't happen again last year and now they have egg on their face with Gadsden. Congrats Gadsden you might not have won on the field but you beat the hell out of the FHSAA. I think you put a running clock on them.

I like the system. For the most part, the first round matchups are fantastic. I think people are getting caught up in W-L records instead of schedule strength and power numbers. Just my opinion but I foresee the first round winning margins being closer than any other first round since the turn of the century. Looking forward to it.

I don't recall this ever happening before. Hardee. Desoto, Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid, Fort Meade, Frostproof, and Lake Wales are all in the playoffs.

Have a little confidence in your team, bro. As Bad Bird said, if VB plays at its best, it has a very good shot at getting to the semis. I have a hard time seeing them beat Wekiva, though. Too much speed and physicality for VB in my opinion.

Jensen Beach (6-4) were the 8th seed going into the final week and got jumped by then 10th seed Norland(4-6). They got screwed in the aspect Centenial and Port St Lucie decided to call their game due to lightning. This made Centinial 7-2. Most likely they would of beat PSL and made them a Cat 1 team if I’m correct at 8-2 and given PSL a 5 point bump and they would have made the playoffs. By canceling the game and not making up at a different time or location PSL got screwed out if the playoffs due to the points, they did what they needed to due but got let down by another team the final week.

The teams I have bolded have a shot. I would also add West Orange to the list if they can somehow beat Wekiva a second time. But that is a tall order though I would not put it past coach Head.

8A I see South Dade winning. I give Treasure Coast a shot. I don't think any others win. 7A I got Palmetto. All the other draw tough first round games. 6A I got Northwestern. Lake Weir has a good shot. 5A I got Bolles. Hernando has a shot. I say 6 this year win first round and 1 gets to regional final.

It is not fair to say that recruiting is the FHSAA's fault. I would look to the State Legislature ahead of them on that score.

They could split up district 16. The Broward teams are not that far away. Now if they did, Dillard may not be district champion, though. The current problem is that District 16 is just too good. The best chance Dillard has is to move up to 7a (but then you get St. Thomas) or down to 5a, but then you get American Heritage and Cardinal Gibbons. So, I only see two possible solutions if Dillard is to have a deep run. The first is to get a lot better, which is a possibility as the new coaching staff seems to be doing well, or jump two classes to 8a. That would be somewhat tough, but at lest no CC, Central or MNW or no Aquinas, Cardinal Gibbons or American Heritage.

If Apopka had not gotten into the playoffs I would make the trip back to Lake City for this game. The first meeting was a barn burner. I think the rematch should be pretty good, too!

Gadsden wins two coin tosses in a row and then shocks South Walton to become the first winless team to win a playoff game.

I heard some winless teams are saying "Why not us?" if Gadsden got in, so maybe we will need to have bowl games where they can play each other. We could call one the Donut Bowl.

We all got together and convinced FHSAA that they could get a kick back from Mosaic if we got in. If you are familiar with this areas economy and politics, you know what I'm talking about.

Never a perfect system. Always going to be upsets and factors that play into it. Computers have a better track record than humans in picking games.

No that’s not true I know the Vero Beach tradition undefeated regular seasons and early playoff losses it’s always the same. But this year it’s different bro trust me I know a good team when I see it and Vero Beach is a damn good team this year. They WILL win states this year, the Venice and Pahokee games really convinced me that there’s more to see in the Vero Beach football team this year.

Quick question, did you go down to STA in 2016 ? While I am all for beating STA lets just think abut what it will take to do so. First Venice has to beat TBT. Positive note that game is at home. I think BR goes to Plant City and handles business. Then Venice will have to beat BR again. Beating a team twice in the same season is tough to do. Then it maybe a long shot but might have to play Palmetto again. Who knows. To win you have to prepare for 1 game a week. Take care of that first and the chances are better. Survive and advance.

I was at this game... i was just a little 4 year old jitterbug sitting on my dads shoulders but I was there. Dunedin is me and my whole families alma mater and I had several family members on this team. Terrance (Turk) Shaw is my cousin as is Karl McGill. Terrance's brother Anthony was on the team but a Freshman and did not play much that year. My brother just missed out on these years as he started in 88. Todd Donahoe is a LB on this team and was 1 of my high school head coaches while at Dun Dun. So anyone want to talk about the QB situation at Lakeland that year? It could be a big fish tall tale but there was always the rumor he should not have been playing in that game due to um..... some criminalistic issues LMAO. I was too young to know just heard the barbershop tales growing up. Also heard lots about the officiating.
