the other one is. Team A is kicking to team B. Team A runs toward the football, does not kick, but proceeded 5 yards past the ball. so no kick was made. no penalty called. Is this not an offsides?

If they run past the ball before they kick it then it should be offsides. Atleast that's what I always thought

This one was pretty close from what I can see. Could've went either way honestly and they refs that blew it dead had the best vantage points

It looked like a fumble to me, but if he was already down before it came out then it couldn't have been a live ball. I thought the referee blew the whistle a little too early. Very tough call to make.

Yea I really couldn't tell if he was down or not. Too close for me to call without being right there on the field

my point is there is grass between his toe and the line. Clearly visible.

Then it's a completion. I was just saying thats the only way the ref can claim it to not be one. I honestly feel like the state should consider doing instant replay for certain types of calls/plays. Especially since now most teams have the sideline systems to watch plays back now.

unfortunately we do not have a sideline system. We used to have hudl sideline but it costs too much for us. Mouthpieces and knee pads are more important!  LOL

Please god no. Games are taking too long as it is.
I want better calls sometimes, but I am willing to sacrifice non-perfection for a little bit of fluidity and continuity in the game. The only time that there should be replay is to figure out if they miscounted the downs or a clock issue or a fight. Other than that, play ball!

If a referee makes a mistake, you shouldn't have left the game in the hands of the referees to begin with.

Boy does that bring back memories of our season ending against Lee in 2018 because of them losing track of downs and only giving us 3 downs and trying to beat a team that had already hit our QB late intentionally to try and take him out of the game but I guess karma is hitting that program now as they can't seem to win anything this year

I still don't know how the ref in the press box tracking the clock isn't also keeping an eye on the downs and able to communicate with the refs on the field to make sure they aren't messing up the downs

Not all teams are so good that they arent a single play away from winning or loosing a game. Close games and poor calls that can decide the game one way or the other will be the issue. I do agree excessive use of replays would ruin the flow of the game. But getting a call wrong and costing a team a game is also not excessive!  Having said that we all know replays wont be a part of high school weekly play for many years to come if ever!

Add that to the list of needed items starting with pay disparity.  The only way that will happen is if the residing party finds a way to give kickbacks to one of their cronies to fund that initiative.  However, this is long overdue.

Beek, what you are posting on this message board is counterproductive.to what you are trying to attain regarding officiating for your home football games.

Are you suggesting that officials will see this and become biased against his team? If so, does not sound good for the professionalism of referees... should he take it the officials association? Sure. I am sure he probably has sent it and asked, but now he is looking for some confirmation and empathy from other coaches and fans.
