If Columbia wins this game, and Apopka loses to Wekiva, I will make Columbia's regional final game. I think it will be against Edgewater, even though they have to travel to Lincoln.

Edgewater has the athletes to match up with Columbia, but the Columbia kids seem to have more mental toughness from what I saw in the Fletcher game.

We did look a lot better this time against Fletcher then the game you saw on homecoming so it seems Columbia has finally eased that rough finish and gotten on right track

I'm confident we will be ready for Lee and it seems we are getting healthy and fresh and the coaches are taking the same approach they took in 2015 playoffs

I have no doubts they make regional final game, I'm definitely pulling for Lincoln but should it be Edgewater I'll have to go do some research into them but if you up here then maybe I'll just ask you before the game about them like i did several other teams lol

Offensively, Edgewater has a big strong line, a QB that I would describe as somewhere between being a dual threat, and an athlete playing QB. They have a number of good receivers, including a kid I know personally who was supposed to be at Lake Highland Prep, but whose parents decided to send him to Edgewater at the 11th hour. His name is Tommy Hill, a sophomore, who plays slot and returns punts.

Defensively Edgewater is kind of like Columbia, in that they are bend but don't break, but will give up points to good competition. I saw them live once this year against Bishop Moore early in the season. They won a hard fought game that took over four hours from start to finish. Bishop Moore despite its less than stellar record and early exit from the playoffs was not a bad team. They beat Bolles by a point or two in the Kickoff Classic and gave both Seminole (who was unfortunate to not make the playoffs) and Edgewater very difficult games. In the first round of the playoffs, they also gave Jones a hard game even though Jones had blown them out in the regular season.

In its Kickoff Classic, Edgewater blew out Winter Park who nearly beat Wekiva and is still in the playoffs. Assuming both Columbia and Edgewater win Friday, I favor Columbia to beat Edgewater, especially since they will be at home. That said, they are not a team to underestimate and they certainly have enough talent to make a game of it.

What do you see in this game Friday that would be different than your game against Lee in September. Lee came back very strong in the 2nd half of that game and Columbia nearly lost it. Do you think Columbia's defense can do what it needs to do to contain Lee in the latter stages of this game. I know that Columbia can score against Lee, that's a given. But, can they slow down Sapp and his WR core? I would imagine that they are even better than in September. I'm rooting for Columbia to win big and for Jordan to have a great night finding his receivers. Any surprises that Columbia plans for Lee? ;)

Remember Lee came back in the second half after they knocked out Jordan on second to last play of 2nd quarter

Idk if we have any surprises up our sleeves for sure because i haven't been at practices this year but i have the feeling we have something special for Lee, I'm just not sure what it is

Lee offense runs through Sapp and stud RB/WR Nicholson

We shut those 2 down and Lee is finished because this Lee defense isn't as strong as years past,  especially in the secondary

The way Columbia is playing they will have to face a elite secondary or they will pile up passing yards,  however i have a sneaky hunch that callum will have a big game Friday whether it's catching ball out of backfield or carrying it,  he been banged up since Fletcher game back on homecoming and they been playing it safe with him but i think Friday is going to be when we release the beast

tough loss for Columbiafan.  Too soon after a tough loss.  I do have a heart.  I have to give him one day before I jump back on.

Bad Bird, Columbiafan is a good young man. I feel for him. With Apopkas' loss I had planned to take in the Columbia vs Edgewater game. But now I am stuck with Wekiva vs Mandarin, as despite knowing a kid on the Edgewater roster, I am not a big enough fan of Edgewater football to make the trip to Jacksonville.

Reading the updates on twitter did this really happen???

A lot of people were going nuts in the stands and apparently every reporter charting it said Columbia only had 3 downs (there was 4 reporters at the game,  2 from LCR, one from Gainesville and one from Jacksonville and all had same on it)

Regardless the way we played prior to 4th quarter was pretty bad and before the late surge it looked like it was going to be a repeat of 2016 game against Lee

It was nice to see Columbia not just give up after going down by 24 points and surged late,  had they put that surge much earlier they would have probably won

In fact i was more bothered by our fans walking out in the 3rd quarter of the game then i was of the result and it showed the true colors of our current fanbase,  they are no longer the hardcore Columbia high fanbase we had for decades, they have morphed into fair weather jokes
