Well guys it's here the fhsaa did it they punished TFA according to the Orlando sentinel tfa will forfeit all 8 wins will be playoff ineligible for the next two seasons (2024 and 2025) and will be fined 36,000 dollars TFA will appeal this punishment

HALLELUJAH!!!  Maybe some of the naysayers can give the FHSAA and those corrupt state officials at least a modicum of credit.  The message sent will certainly give teams some pause and even possibly return stolen players back to their rightful teams.   I seldom harp on any team though I know some of this does go on throughout our state, but what these folks did was just too egregious to ignore, thus it needed to be hammer time.

Sadly, some school will give him another chance . . . especially if he can promise to bring some of those players with him.  B)

I haven’t followed the TFA situation closely but what was the difference in what they did vs western & norland. And why was TFA punishment way more severe where as norland and western got a slap on the wrist ?

Didnt all 3 play with ineligible players , or is this a recruiting scandal ?

That would be par for the course as this is his 3rd school in the past 4-5 years.  Steven Moffett has done this everywhere he has been (Winter Park - Leesburg) prior to landing with his entire coaching staff at TFA this year. Fortunately, he will have to travel out of state as his suspension is thru 12/25.  At Winter Park he recruited one of our best players in slot WR Izaiah Jean-Baptiste his Sr. year.  He led them in receptions, receiving yards, kick returns and TD’s.  This suspension couldn’t happen to a finer Coach.

Finally the FHSAA got both their decision and punishment right!

Now just gotta see if they stick with it or decide to overturn it if they get a little pressure from the state legislation and the governor who are very anti public school and pro private

Im happy they got it right but disappointed the decision was made so far into the season.

All roads were pointing to a Chaminade vs TFA showdown, which i would have loved to watch and honestly feel like TFA was the only team that can dethrone Chaminade in 1A.

I agree with you that it would have been better if it happened early in the season.  My guess is the FHSAA had early indications of guilt on TFA, but it probably became crystal clear to them that these folks were not going down without a fight as demonstrated by the lawyer they hired.  So, it was incumbent to have all their ducks in a row to weather them challenging the charges.  Hopefully, that is the case as they now have solid evidence of wrongdoing on many fronts and won't be intimidated.

It will be interesting to see if TFA can go to court and get a restraining order that allows them to compete in the playoffs.  They will argue that "irreparable harm" will be done to the school and the players if they are not allowed to compete, if a judge believes that TFA might prevail through the judicial process.

That's exactly what may happen only for the results to be overturned and TFA stripped later on resulting in a tarnished state champion or none at all depending on the final outcome once a final ruling is made.

I believe they would also have to argue substantial likelihood of success on the merits, which is going to be an uphill climb in a case like this.   Not impossible, but very difficult.

Nailed it! I believe that is what happened as well. The FHSAA couldn't afford to get embarrassed again so they held on to the evidence and like you said, "got their ducks in a row".

A good prosecutor would counter argue that the real irreparable damage has already happened...... to several other schools whose season got destroyed by losing players, to the players on said team, to the players that were at TFA thinking they may be staring and lost their hopes due to the new arrivals and also to the teams they only beat thru cheating. Even key school staff (coaches/administrators) that felt they had to quit their jobs to come forward with these allegations.  Gotta stay on offense.

Lastly, the irreparable damage to the kids that transferred in was inflicted by the coaches deception not the punishment that was handed down as they also know the rules.

The parents are the main culprit in this. They let some shiesty coaches (street agents) influence them. Those dudes are only coaching for self-gratification and using players success for coaching advancement, social media influence and monetary reasons.

AMEN!!

    • Bayside went up to play Lowndes and lost 50-0 and 69-0 in back to back years for $25,000 total. I think that’s why so many garbage FL teams play good GA teams.
    • And did he “beg”? Or did he simply ask one sentence and see if anyone can help with fundraising? Every single team we have been apart of from 4 years old to high school has fund raised. I don’t remember begging anyone for money. But I guess I’m not a millionaire who coaches a transfer factory. Lol.
    • ALL programs in the state of Florida would love to have more money, and really need more. Teddy happens to have enough name recognition and reach- including wealthy current and former NFL players- that he may well succeed in getting money. Whether he succeeds or not, he's calling attention to the problem. (Of course, if the number of schools investing in football programs was sharply reduced, and all of the money which has been spread thin among poor programs was consolidated towards a smaller number of super programs, those super programs would be financed much more effectively.)
    • Could be for kids out of the zone who attend the school who are in a family situation that makes it extremely difficulty to attend practices, school, games etc all the time. Could be a single parent who works 2 jobs who has a kid transfer to MNW in hopes that the exposure could earn him a scholarship. We have no idea unless it’s explained. Ubers are expensive as hell. More than taxis used to be. My son’s school is 8 miles from our house. He needed a ride one day for football practice so we looked up Uber and they wanted $40!!
    • I don't know why this state is so far behind every other state football powers regarding coaching salaries and financial support?  More evidence is Teddy having to use $14k of his own money last year.  On a side note, isn't paying for uber rides an impermissible benefit?  I mean if you didn't recruit kids out of your area, they wouldn't need those rides anyway Teddy...  but I digress.  https://www.the-sun.com/sport/14663753/teddy-bridgewater-miami-northwestern-donations/#:~:text=The free agent quarterback Bridgewater,team%2C the Miami Northwestern Bulls.&text=Bridgewater made a long plea,by the school through donations.
