Here's a set of 3 transfers, all who are now at Lee High School in Jacksonville over the span of the last 24 hours

Funny how the Jacksonville Fanbases wants to make it sounds like TCA are out there recruiting, yet a public school gets 3 kids in a span of 24 hours, all from different schools and it's crickets

Are the 3 transfers any good? Are they studs or are they just random obscure players who are moving into the Lee zone? Kids move all the time. You just don’t hear about the tuba player or debate club wiz transferring schools.

If they ain’t stud football players then it’s all a waste of typing.

Well ik I saw at least 2 of them being hyped up by the jacksonville media as being one of the best players in the city at their position

Also there is no such thing as a "zone" in duval county which is why kids can pick any school out of Middle school

Robert lee high plays Miami Northwestern this yr.

I wish, it would end the arrogance and overall delusional mindset their fanbase has

Though they would have to make the finals to play them and their program hasn't done that since 1964

Not quite that simple when it comes to schools and where you go in DCPS.

The two best kids they’ve added are Capers from TCA and Smith from Oakleaf. Those are legit D1 guys.

Wow 5 transfers in the span of a week

And yet Lee claims to be homegrown talent LMAO

Madco home grown > north Florida,  Madco transfers > the United States.

Not if they are named Columbia

Well 2016 was Lee vs Columbia first playoff matchup

Maybe if Lee had actually made the playoffs more then it wouldn't be so fresh in everyone's mind but Lee spent 15 years being Jacksonville homecoming game for teams like Ed White, Raines and First Coast while those teams owned the City and Lee just wished they would be considered a big deal

Lee will be back to 3 win seasons eventually like every "hopeful" dynasty in Jacksonville and Columbia will still be a playoff team, like always

As long as OJ is there and he can keep his staff together? They’ll keep winning.

In some ways, city schools have a huge advantage (more people = more possible athletes) but also a huge disadvantage. I’m sure they have nowhere near the stability of a Columbia nor do they have the community support or funding. In fact, I’d consider Columbia a better job than Lee

    • Same thing my cousin A-Town on here said about Spanish River....
    • I'll play devil's advocate just a little.   As soon as you inject the "human element," you create a risk of bias.  It happens at all levels.   In college football, coaches and sportswriters from the south tend to vote for teams from the south while coaches and sportswriters from the midwest tend to vote for the teams from the midwest.   To a certain extent, it's natural.  I can see the same thing happening at the high school level if you involve coaches, writers, web hosts, etc.  I understand the argument in favor of inserting a little humanity into the process, but that will undoubtedly create a possibility of bias for and against teams based on nothing more than where the teams are located.
    • I totally agree with you 100 percent. Human element is needed. I have yet to see a computer watch a football game.
    • Would like to think that pride, integrity, character, honor would prevent the scenario you describe, but this is high school football in Florida.  The Week 11 non-district games would be a perfect time to “rest” some key players (“load management” as they call it in the NBA), heal up “injuries”, or give the back-ups some playing time. The bigger issue is that it is extremely unlikely that MaxPreps will identify the “best” 8 teams in the state.  MaxPreps is excellent at ranking teams at the end of the post-season, but not as reliable at the end of the regular season.  And why do MaxPreps rankings differ from the FHSAA Power Rankings, the LAZ index, Joshua Wilson’s FPRI, etc (no disrespect to the latter two)?  Which one is the most accurate?  Without a human element included in the selection process, MaxPreps will identify 8 teams that look the best to their particular variables, weighting, and formula, but this biased process will not guarantee the intent of the Open Division is met – identifying the best of the best.
    • what happens if, your 8-0, district title is secured, your lingering around the 6,7,8 spot in state max preps rankings.  however, you know, your not going to run the gambit of west boca, chaminade, venice, st thomas, columbus, miami central, etc, etc, etc.  and,,,,, coach dumps last 2 weeks of season, 8-2 and fall out of max preps top 8.  and run the table in your playoff division.... is it better to be 8th ranked in max preps and lose at some point in that bracket or  10th ranked and roll thru your division to a state title?  is the class 3405-A,  state champ better than 2nd round loss in open division  someone does this, i can promise it.
