  1. Western vs Miami Palmetto in 8A looks like a good on paper.

  2. A lot of people confuse the two. There are similarities but also big differences. With single wing, the line is unbalanced and there is no true quarterback. The ball can technically be snapped to anyone of three guys.

  4. I'm already the 2019 champ so I'm good with that. You can be the 2019 co champ and we can both get a trophy. Before we know it we will have 8 champs with 2 people playing in each pick em

  8. Jambun, I'll bite on this one (especially since I don't have a dog in the fight). Why do the officials in the playoffs, who aren't familiar with Apopka, throw more flags on the Darters in the playoff games than regular season refs do? I'm assuming that the Apopka offense is essentially playing the exact same way and doing the exact same thing in the playoffs as they did in the regular season. Are the regular season refs being too lenient or are the playoff refs calling things that really shouldn't be called? And/or are the refs getting fooled by the style of offense that the Darters play? With that question asked, I'll ask you one more: do playoff refs study film? In other words, if a crew comes into Apopka to call a game and hasn't reffed a game involving an offense like Apopka's, do they look at any film ahead of time to prepare them for what they are going to see when they actually show up and blow the whistle to start the game?

  9. Got u you know way more about pbc then me so I respect yo expertise on the subject but to give up that much points at home especially in the playoffs when your suppose to be playing your best and against a wildcard at that. the last time we gave up 40 points in any game was in the playoffs in 2016 vs carol city ..that’s like us beating Lely 48-42 .... our crowd would of rioted.

  10. Truuu ..but personally o believe it takes a talented team to go (10-0) that’s not a East feat to do your playing against teams & players who eat & crap just like you do. so to go 10-0 is a great accomplishment that not many schools can say they’ve done I do see lakes coming up short next week tho

  11. Hillsborough had a very strong opening round. I guess they aren't as down as some had thought.

  12. We actually have a full thread about these 2 styles, nice little read: But this should be another great game between the 2, obviously I’m a Vero homer but I’m giving Vero the edge. Vero will actually have tape on TC from this season to help game plan going against their non traditional style of offense, our teams been getting healthier, and both the offense and defense have really stepped their games up the second part of the year and started clicking. All this and being played at home I’ll go Vero 31, TC 20.

  13. Nope You have to do better??? 14. TBT putting 52 on the board and a running clock in a road playoff game is an eye-opener. I'd have to take a look at TBT and see their strengths and weaknesses before I conclude it won't be a close game. A guess based off of watching very little of them is that they are really fast with questionable play in the trenches? I think it will be a fun game to watch, even if it isn't that close after all.

  15. Agreed, I give Palmetto the edge, but if I were in south Florida this weekend, that is a game that I would probably attend.

  16. I don’t do the daisy chains. Lincoln isn’t fools gold because they aren’t portrayed as a top team like Edgewater. Edgewater got blown out by the only quality team on the schedule. I don’t count Jones because Jones had almost half their starters out. Edgewater is being put on a pedestal for doing nothing. They haven’t won anything, and have no equity built to give them the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn’t bet on Lincoln ever due to their inconsistent play, but if they beat Edgewater I wouldn’t bat an eye, and would never consider it remotely close to an upset

  17. If we being honest the idea of having seeding is we will likely see most blowouts early as the teams that don't belong get weeded out and help us get better games later in the playoffs But we shall see how it goes, I saw quite a bit of very good 2nd round matchups this week

  18. I agree. BT will be very difficult to beat at their place. If Apopka is to win they will have to punch them in the mouth early and maintain that for four quarters. I have BT a 10+ point favorite going into the game.

  19. I’m going with Lincoln. Edgewater has one good win against a depleted Jones team. They are fools gold. The kind of chain that leaves a green ring around your neck.

  20. All right, so you are not the coach that I was thinking about. Now I have to thank of coaches in the Central Florida area who have no respect for officials, and treated them accordingly. I know that you are one of them. I just have to figure out which one.

  21. Cocoa had double digit transfers almost every year. And they still got smoked out of state annually, and sometimes to inferior teams. Brevard was a transfer factory with a few teams poaching all the talent in the county. That doesn’t show signs of strength, quality and depth. It shows the opposite. They can’t compete on a state level without stealing all their neighbors best players. I admitted Brevard had some good teams over the years. But that was because they were transfer county all star teams. You can’t prove otherwise

  22. Forecast for Friday in JAX is 58 degrees at game time with some windy conditions. The light rain should end by game time. I remember back a few years ago in the playoffs when we had to go up to Jax for the 2nd round . At game time it was below 36 degrees and I don't think I have ever been that cold since my college days in Boston. I actually had to leave at halftime as there was no way to get warm.

  23. There was some talk about a 4-6 Braden River should not have been in the playoffs over a 6-4 Sebastian River team, despite the loss, I think the RPI system got it right this time. Having seen Sebastian in person, I think they would have gotten blasted by Palmetto, at least Braden River made it a competitive game.

  24. Daytona Beach to Pensacola or vice versa is over 6 hours, sorry there are limits on how far people are willing to travel for a 1st round game. Now games, where it is 30 minutes the excuse doesn't fly.

  25. Armwood vs Bloomingdale (Lakeland defeated Bloomingdale with ease in regular season) Lakeland vs Tampa Bay Tech (Armwood defeated TBT with ease in regular season) I expect Armwood/Lakeland in Round 3.
